    SAND TEXTURE

I enjoyed your folder. A couple of thoughts entered my mind, based on problems I needed to solve in my own landscape work. I have architectural grids in my cameras now to help get things level, but I also went to a bubble level that slides onto the hot shoe. I need lots of help. Also, ... I think the grad ND4 is a bit much for some shots. Some people like the affect because it is dramatic to see a dark sky and a shaft of bright light on the foreground, but it doesn't make visual sense to me, ... looks altered. Serious landscape photogs seem to carry a number of Grads of different densities, some hard line and some soft, perhaps a colored one or two. I've added a couple to my own gear. But it's hard for me to get the discipline to meter all areas in the image and decide on the combination needed to balance the light to the most pleasing and natural experience. Best wishes. CC
  1. I think this is a beautiful illustrative shot. Can't see it as being very original, but I'm really impressed with the technical quality and beauty of the bird captured on film. Wonderful.
