  1. Cart was thirty-five bucks, (US), including tax, at Home Depot.

The charger came from the place I ordered a couple of batteries from; it was twenty-five bucks.

The battery I picked up on e-Bay for about one twenty-eight, delivered. Weights about thirty pounds.

The 2500w power inverter I picked up at e-Bay auction for about one twenty-five, delivered.

The light was about a hundred, e-Bay auction.

The stand was some fifty bucks from B&H.

The D1204, delivered was about two fifty on e-Bay auction.

So the total for the setup, including cables was about,,,,, adding machine tape noise in the background,,,,,,, was under seven hundred and fifty bucks (US).

I can run the modeling light and flash to my hearts content for well over an hour, unrestricted. Maybe even a couple of hours, I've never tried to time it. With an 80AH deep cycle battery, I have enought juice to run a pair of D1204's, w/modeling lights, constant on for over two hours.

The system is designed to handle two 1200ws power packs and modeling lights, unrestricted:) I have two more deep cycle batteries (80AH) in the back ground so there's spare power and enough battery power to run four power packs at the same time for about an hour to two hours plus, unrestricted use:) No gas, no fumes:) Woo hoo! :)

  2. It's in the coloration of the clouds in the sky. It's in the warm green of the trees. It's in the idelic inviting feel of the road leading into such a quiet scene. It's in the golden of the wild oats. It's in the shadows being cast by the morning sun. It's in the movement of the plane from left to right. It's in the lacking of a photographic quality where the image is caught between photographic and painterly. Hope this helps.

Sorry to see that you've been so hurt. Allow me to appologize for all the transgressions that you've received at the hands of the insensitive males that you've attracted.

I throughly enjoy your images but this negativity that you have towards the male is very telling indeed. So on behalf of all the men in the world, I'll appologize; "We're sorry!" :)

Wishing you all the best and good will with your future.

  3. Thanks!

I stopped by and read through the thread you suggested with the link. Very nice chatty group of folks stopping by your image portfolio. Wish the same could be said for the Philosophy forum:)

I enjoyed the surreal image. More then a point, I think the viewer makers their own point in this sort of imagery. Nice effort and I like the obvious daylight/moon image conflict for the dreamer at heart:-)
  4. I've been wanting to make this image for over a year now. Never had

a building that cooperated. Not having a roof helps to let light in

on both sides of the capture. Please leave comment and thanks for

    taking the time to look.

  5. I've been working on the two words; compelling and unique. Do either

of the two words apply to this image? A simple yes or no is

sufficent. Please don't just leave a rating as a yes/no feedback is

    what I'm wanting.

  6. I'm posting a seven where I might post a five or six. Why? To counter posters such as Fredrik Olsson's score, who thinks mean spirited behavior is acceptable. I give this image a resounding seven on both accounts. Between Olsson's inappropriate score of three and my inappropriate score of seven we have a less then appropriate five. People should be more considerated before they post their scores.

  7. I was going for the subtle with this series as the lighting was the soft light just before the storm, that never happened:-) I'm using negative space and refer to it as "minimalist. For me, they were some of the strongest images, impact on my psychic, that I've done; hard lines, vanishing points, black&white with subtle shading in the middle. The only real color in the images is the yellow stipe on the engine and cars.

Thanks for the comment, I'll try and kick the next series in the pants for ya:-) And I'll check further out on the slough.

  8. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

I purposefully juxtaposed the two planes to bring the viewer into the image and make them want to duck under the interesting wall to see what's underneath. To me, the interesting wall was the easy shot. I took a shot of just the wall as you suggested but to me, it lacks originality. Here's a link to a shot of just the wall as you suggested.

I try to add dynamics to an image by drawing the viewer, via perspective and light into the image as opposed to just putting an image on the wall for the viewers pleasure. Hope this comment helps.

Young and beautiful are the easiest to do. Try doing something that's fat and ugly. Why do I say this. We tend to do what's easy, not what's hard. Give it a go. Very nice couple shot.
