  1. Bob,

If it's not too late. Get Fuji NPZ (ISO 800) as the main film, since you never know how really bright the site is, and also have 5-10 rolls of Kodak BW400CN (you can push it all the way to 1600).

    Shoot at will!

    Good Luck!

  2. Philip,

get a used, but not abused EOS3 and use BOTH bodies at the same time. For example, your 20D could be a primary camera and EOS3 a secondary. If you're not sure about the shot - take it with your digital - costs nothing, but worth the experience. IMHO, photography isn't about equipment that you use , but about the end result - a picture.

    Good luck!

  3. Kathy,

if you got some 550 bucks to spare, I would go for the Canon 17-40. Useful on both Rebels - film and digital. Please don't forget that digiRebel has a crop factor (maginification) of 1.6 and it will turn your 17-40 into a ~28-64 mm lens.

Be careful at the Grand Canyon! It IS slippery when wet!

    Best Regards,

    Max

  4. Alan - everything depends on how much money you wanna spend on it. Some people have enough money and desire for 17-85, some for 17-40, and some for 16-35. Quality wise some are better than others - 16-35 is better than 17-40 at 35/40 mm, while almost identical at the wide end. Go to a well staffed store where you can try any lens you like and shoot 5 shots at every focal length, then download to your computer and make a comparison for yourself.

    Have a nice shot!

  5. Rakesh,

Bill is absolutely correct. f/4 comes without the tripod ring (some US$100 plus), however it is very light and even if you put your Elan and f/4 on the tripod it would not feel very unbalanced. However, tripod rings makes for a horizontal to vertical and vice versa format change a snap.

    Regards,
