So you do. Nice stuff in your folio.
John, no need to list it all-- I'm unlikely to plow through your gigantic collection of folders...you have some good photos buried in such an overwhelming amount of stuff that should be edited out that it's just impossible to make sense of what you're trying to say photographically. At least to me. But I do like your enthusiasm.

Well, it's an OK photo in its own, but the thing that made me leave a comment, sadly enough, is that it is one of the few street photos I see on PN of a black person. I've been on this site for years and see much of what gets posted in the Street and Doc forum, and have over the years seen my share of gallery pics and it has always been remarkable to me how few photographs get taken of black people (typically sleeping street people excepted). I have my theories as to why, none of them particularly charitable. So, hats off to you, John.

well done. You've got a good eye.

Nicely done.

As part of a larger series this would be excellent. What I appreciate about your style is that it is evocative (in terms of exposure and printing, though I assume it is digital "printing") of '60's slow film pgotography (my father used to shoot 25ASA black and white film in Warsaw with an East German rangefinder so I know) yet modern (in terms of framing).

Very good. See my earlier comment.

The hospital photos are very well done. Is there a point of view of Eastern Europeans? I assume you are one-- if not I'm just fooled. Haphazard framing, careless glances, all just right. Maybe I identify because I'm one myself and shoot similarly.
Best regards

really nice series. Congratulations.

I think this is my favorite image in your collection, though obviously incongruous it is so well framed that it's both funny-- an important tool for a street photographer-- and produces tension.
I like that you have collected themes in your portfolio. Too few people do that, but that is the essence of photography. If you condense even more your best shots would be even better shown. I say that from the vantage point of never quite knowing when to stop, so consider the source.
Anyways, you have interesting work.

I'm curious what you're really saying through the choice of your photos.

Hi CH,
What a fine, nostalgic piece this is. That dog waiting for his master, with that dark line like a leash leading out of the frame.

Hi Jack,
Thank you for the thoughtful comments on some of my photos recently. They are appreciated. I am not sure I would characterize my photos as abstract in any way, but I can see how that view is defensible. What I try to do with varying levels f success is fill the frame with something unexpected, all the while chasing great light. That's really it.
I do like this photo and I can see some interesting materials in yours-- but I cannot wade through 800+ photos in your portfolio. If you have some particular folders that are street photography I can try to offer up some thoughts, if you like.
I did get a laugh about my stuff not being known-- it's generally true though I d have a few fans. On PN the amount of comments one is likely to get are directly proportional to the comments one makes. My 200 or so in 6 years are a bit pathetic I guess.
Best,
Andy

Hi Jack,
I don't know why but I always liked car window pics. This is a good one.

They're best with garlic, kosher salt and pepper, rubbed and marinated for 24hrs, then quickly roasted until all the fat is out. Red cabbage and apples with a touch of vinegar goes great with the duck, washed down by a cheap shiraz.

The boy's hand makes all the difference. Well done. (You might try to print it as well by dodging the figure a bit).

Julie,
What a sly, sophisticated little view of the world. Very enjoyable to see a spark of creativity...
