I may as well throw this out... I have a Manfrotto 3221 tripod. I like it, however, either due to weight (say max of 15lbs), extreme temps (-40 before wind chill), or me just being rough on it... I have metal cracking on it. The crack is on the top portion where one of the legs meets the leg joint. Again, don't know what caused it, but it is what it is. The tripod still functions for lighter stuff, and I am trying to keep it alive until I find a replacement.

What digital video camera has the best image stabilization? I am
looking at shooting out of a small airplane, and don't want the
vibration effecting the image. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tim

FP4 exposed @ 100 rather than 125, developed normal in D76 seems to work well for me.

If you really want some nice 9"x9" negatives, there is the Leica RC30. It only costs twice what the aircraft that carries it does. And, it only requires you to cut one big hole, and one little hole in the belly... oh yea, and the FAA has to approve the modifications. On the upside, the shots made with this camera are unbeatable :)

It was the type with the profile rail, so it must have been the later version.

"Aslo did you actually have a Super Color "
It said "Super Color" on the rear standard. It did not have any other letters. What other indications would there be to figure out the difference?

I had a Kardan super color, sold it (stupid on my part). It was a really great camera. Missed it so much that I just bought a Kardan BI a friend was selling. All of the Kardans I have used have been great cameras. The only time I have heard anything negative about them was regarding the original "color" model, prior to the "super color" model.

Wow, I did not think that this question would stir up so much controversy. Thanks for all of the input, the information is valuable to me. I was talking with a friend who has used the hex plate version... and he said that there was some camera shake when he used that version. As if the plate on the camera were not snug with the holder on the tripod. Not to stir any more controversy, but is it possible that he was using the older version hex plate that was mentioned about having the lock problem? And, are any of the other systems known for this? Thanks again for all of the help.

Hi All,
I am starting to notice the wear and tear that my tripod head is
taking. So, I am curious if there is a QR plate (or system) made to
fit the Mamiya RZ, Pentax 67, Super Graphic, and a Linhof Kardan BI?
I am using a Bogen 3221 tripod with a Manfrotto 3029 head. Thanks
for the help.
