  1. I don't think you need to lighten it, the silhouetted shapes are good and the overall dark tone helps make it feel like sunset. It might have helped to shoot from a slightly lower position, though, so the lovers' heads would clear the horizon.

I like the yin-yang shape and golden color, and the high perspective is interesting. But the bright spot in the top left focuses my attention away from the people in the bottom right, which is where I think the center of attention should be.
  2. It's very flat, doesn't give me a sense of a three-dimensional structure. The three shapes are good as an abstract composition but I'm not sure I like having the one in the middle be such a bright white -- the focus of interest should be in the left center where the three shapes draw near, but instead the two big bright lobes of the middle shape draw my eye away from there and out of the image.

I like the lighting of the grammaphone and the background room, and the general composition. I'm not so sure about the completely featureless window, or of the placement of the piano so that its center of interest (middle of the keyboard) is exactly the part blocked by the horn.

Nice playful scene. Colors look a little dull on my monitor, could probably be improved by level adjustment in Photoshop. Unless, of course, you're trying to shoot a colorful scene with deliberately muted colors, in which case it went over my head.

I don't know, the amazing part about this is the way it looks like a painting. But my initial reaction to the actual image is that it somehow looks just like those awful saccharine Thomas Kinkade prints.
