Quick snapshot while walking the dog, taken just after sunset.

Thank you everyone for the comments. All are greatly appreciated. Despite the cold weather, I did venture into the stream, but could not make the composition work, as the creek looses its bend and you can see the highway too much from that perspective. I do like the panoramic crop.

Everything works so well together in this photo. There are so meanings this photo could have. I love the black and white.

My friend tells me this photo is missing something. I cannot put my
finger on it. What do you think?

Absolutly magical light.

Nice abstract. The cold color and deliberate softness are captivating.

I missed the ruins on my way there, found them just before noon. It
was somewhat hard to compose as the sun was coming around fast and
most on the foreground was already lit up. I had to get really close
to the ruins to exclude blown out foreground.

Trying a different perspective on the square.

Love the texture and pastel palate. Such great image.

This is an awesome shot, I love the blue and gold color with a little fog it is magical

You are right on. 9 exposure HDR shot 2/3 of a stop apart. Here is the original color image.

Amazing, love the airy feel, the texture, the color, the way my eye wonders through the trees and back to the foreground.

very well done, amazing DOF, not too much not too little. Love the color as well.

Love all you boat images. This one is my favorite. Thanks for sharing.

As I was walking among the many sign warning visitors of the petrified
forest about bad luck associated with this place, I found these two
pieces of wood that reminded me of a sleeping figure. Almost like a
guardian watching over the forest.

The weather was absolutely dreadful, wind, rain and very cold. THe
image was shot in color originally, but lacked drama and somber mood
that the rainy weather evoked in me at the time.

The little cabin looked so peaceful. Scene was almost monochromatic,
so I converted it to black and white and added some amber toning to
evoke some nostalgia.
-
Do you think the exaggerated perspective of a 17mm lens detracts from
the subject?
-
I agree, absolutly gorgeous capture

I was eating clam chowder at Ivar's bar, when a lady start throwing
fries to seagulls. I just could not resist snapping a few pictures.
