Wait...there's still a Luminous Landscape?
Yes. Yes, there is.

Duane: I would still be curious if something you printed up yourself would work as well as joining IFPO and using their credentials. My guess is that few people other than some photographers have ever heard of IFPO.

John: I do have video of your mom and aunt talking about your photos. For a copy, go to your nearest Western Union office and wire me $250.... 8-)

Greg: I have Topaz Simplify, Adjust and Remask. I bought them all separately over the past few years. I rarely use Simplify and Remask, but find that I use Adjust on a majority of my images. I own a number of other plug-ins, too, but have to say Adjust is the best investment I've ever made. As far as buying the entire Topaz suite, you would have to determine if it were worth it to you. From your comments, I'm guessing not.

"I have nothing to fear from the OP as I know I can probably outshoot him anytime." Kudos to you Marios, mom must be so proud of you.

Dave: Here's a financial report on Mangelsen, Inc.
http://www.manta.com/c/mmf6wnj/thomas-d-mangelsen-inc
His company does more than just his photography, but he is considered one of the best nature photographers around. I've been to his gallery in Jackson Hole, WY and his work is breath-taking. I believe he had one image there that noted he waited three weeks to capture it. Talk about the patience of a saint...

My guess is that the OPs girlfriend will not be shooting line charts or be pixel peeping. The 18-200 lens is quite capable of producing awesome images. Ask Tom Mangelsen, who grosses millions of dollars a year and used this lens to win a photo of the year competition:
I use the lens (and have sold many photos produced with it. albeit not for millions of dollars) and have yet to hear anyone say "geez, nice photo, but the distortion is horrendous" or "those chromatic aberrations would cause me to lose sleep at night." I think even the gear heads know that what's most important is who's behind the camera, not what's in front of it.

I would offer to shoot their wedding night photos. Tell her this will give her a good idea of how goofy his face can really look!

Try a sample 24x36 at www.fullsizeposters.com for $9.99 (new accounts). I've had them do a couple this size from a D70 (6 megapixel) file and a D200 (10 megapixel) file and was quite impressed. These are inkjet prints. For 24x36 photos, try Elcocolor.

Dan: We went in late May and it was awesome! You should definitely drive out to Antelope Canyons (the upper and lower are across the street from each other). You don't need to take one of the tours in downtown Page. Go to Lower Antelope early in the morning (they open around 8:30 or 9:00). The colors are awesome and it's not crowded...the guides let us go by ourselves, without them. Upper Antelope is crowded (maybe less so after Labor Day) and the "light beams" probably appear around 11:30 a.m. or so, so plan your trip around this time. I used the Nikon 18-200 and D70 with tripod and found it was wide enough. I have a Tokina 12-24, but didn't need it. Bryce was a lot nicer than I anticipated. All of the marked points provide great photo ops, especially at sunrise and sunset. Enjoy!
