I would like to know what people think of this portrait taken when this

young lady (my niece) was not expecting me to take the shot. Toned

and some diffused glow added in PS.

    Thank you!

The background is too busy, perhaps if the shot had been taken from a different angel. I also think it is too close as you cant see all of the flower. The first thing i would do is turn off (if you can)the date facility of the camera this just gets in the way and spoils your shot. It has good colours. Jim.
  1. Hi, I find this type of shot dificult to master, it looks great in the veiwfinder but when i get the slides back well lets just say mine don't look as good as this. A very good shot with good exposure and composition. Well done. Jim.

    Half Tree.....

I like the way that both green patches are separated by the dark diaginal band leaving two green triangles. This is good use of the rule of thirds, by placeing the tree there it breaks the dark diaginal and prevents it from overpowering the shot. I like this shot a lot, well done. Regards, Jim.

You have many wonderfull shots in this folder, but i have to say this is for me the best. It's not typical of this type of photography (young ladies) that look and the smile make the image intimate and wonderfull. Regards, Jim

Another arch shot! BUT this is better than most it makes you want to walk in to the shot, just to look and see what's around that corner. Great shot, i think your best. Regards, Jim.

This makes you want to walk right into the shot, very nice tones. I'm surprised it was taken with Digital camera, didn't expect results like this if shot as B/W. Regards, Jim.

Overall it's a very nice shot, I would soften it a little just enough to hide the slight imperfections in the petals. Very nice work. Regards, Jim.
