  1. Hi, i have used a Mamiya C330 TLR for a few years now. I also picked it because money was an issue. As i have said i have used it for a few years and it's a great camera and if used with care can produce top quality shots, be they portraits, landscapes or even close-ups. you can see some of my shots here. http://www.scotshot.co.uk/gallery_83169.html all square shots were taken with the afore mentioned TLR.

    Jim.

  2. I have a small mark on every photograph that i take with my EOS 300D. I have

changed lenses and cleaned the sensor and it's still there. I have come to the

conclusion that it's a piece of pollen or dust that's lodged between the chip

and the filter that is in front of the chip. Is there a way i can fix this

without send the camera to Canon and being being without my camera for weeks.

A cropped photograph is attached, the mark is in the upper right hand corner.

If anyone knows a place to fix it in Frankfurt Germany or somewhere close and

what it would cost i would be greatfull for the information.

    Thanks, Jim

  3. I have an old Nikon coolpix digital camera that i would like to use for a

project but i don't have the drivers for it.

Does anyone know where i can get the drivers and software for the Nikon

    Coolpix 950.

    Thank you.

  4. I formated by mistake a CF Card I use with a Canon D Rebel, I have not

over-writen the card. Does anyone know any software I could use to

recover the images. Is there any way I can recover the images on the

card. ANY help would be welcome, Jim.

  5. I know that the D rebel and the european 300D are supposed to be the

same camera but why do they use different batteries? Are the batteries

for the D rebel and 300D interchangeable? Can i use a 1100mAh battery

in 300D or a 1800 mAh in a D rebel? and if yes why have two battery types?

  6. I have been out learning to use my new 300D and it looks like a lot of

shots are being overexposed so I have set the screen alumination to

the second mark so they look ok on the viewer and then i can check

exposure on the computer at home, but that only works if your screen

is set correctly. So my question is this should i use a hand held

meter to calculate exposure and then set the 300d viewer and then

computer screen. Also what have others been doing about this. Regards,

    Jim.

  7. In the shooting info for my new 300D it always says first curtain

sync. I'm not a photographer that uses flash much except with studio

set ups, my question is this. Is it possible to set the Digital Rebel

/ 300D to second curtain sync and if so HOW? I have not read anything

    in the manual.

  8. Hi, I just received a Canon 300D, i have a few questions i hope people

can help with. I am new to digital cameras but i'm used to EOS film

Bodies. I have installed the software included with the camera, most

things seem to be OK just a few things i'm not sure about. Im running

Windows XP and i'm using Photoshop 5.0 and i'm shooting Raw images.

    1. Should i save a file as an 8 bit or 16 bit file.

    2. Why is the default for the tiff file saved in photoshop 72dpi.

Can i change it? If yes how?

    3. Specified resolution of output file- the default is 96ppi but can

be set between 0-2000 what should i set it to?

I am not very comfortable with the computer side of digital

Photography (Yet) I hope to improve, any help is very much welcome.

    Regards, Jim.

  9. I have in the past shot both XP2 and kodak 400cn and i like the

results of both but i have never pushed any of these films, i would

like to push them 1 perhaps 2 stops. Does anyone have info on which

film i should go for? I will be shooting in a bar that is not that

well lit and i can't use flash, i will also be using a standard 50mm

1.4 lens on a minolta X300s. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Jim.

  10. I am thinking of buying a Canon 300D or D60 not sure yet. I use about

100-150 rolls of slide film per year so after one year the camera

would have payed for it's self. I will be going on a photo trip this

year and would need about 50-100 rolls of film just for that so this

year i would use more than normal should i just take the plunge and

get the digital camera. Thanks for any pointers you can give. Regards,

    Jim.
