    Moon Flight

          8

I like this pic a lot and especially the folder that it came from ( all should take a peek ).Many of the photo's are quite familiar scenery and I have the same interests ( I live real close to Mike, in Bay Ridge Brooklyn). The harbor and air traffic around this area are truly stunning and oftentimes you do get aircraft in abnormal traffic patterns ( specially when banking hard to get on LaGaurdia's glideslope.)

Mike, have you ever tried to shoot aircraft from the Jamaica Bay area? You can get excellent sunsets, enormous jets approaching RWY 13L at the minimum descent altitude of 800ft,and various wildlife all in one shot. Really great place. You can get some concorde shots (with large condensation trails) in as well when they begin to resume flights...

  1. I shot this coming out of one of the casino's around 4am in the

morning after a huge storm. Didn't have a tripod with me but braced

the camera on a handrail( a bit blurry huh?) How's the perspective?

Tried to get both buildings and (rainy) intersection and got a one in

a million shot of the ligthning bolt evenly splitting the scene.

By the way, the image in phot.net on medium setting comes out

extremely large when clicked on, however, I scanned this at 200 dpi

and the file is only 98k. Can someone help here? I've had many

complaints regarding too large of a file.

    Thanks

Agree with foot prints but pulled off well ( leading towards tree). Could use a bit of an angle change ( perspective) placing foot steps in diagonal ( starting from left bottom corner) towards tree, then moon in corner to make it flow through whole photo. One to one half stop over would have given better detail to the snowprints but would have diminished the saturation of the sky. Depends what your going for but overall I like it.
  2. Hi all. After working in long hours in a production facility in

Fajardo PR, I got a chance to sneak away on the last day to the

local Hotel's private island. I used a polarizer in this one, view

is looking southwest. I tried hard to think about the composition

and exposure ( well not really, program AE with shift towards higher

aperature using DOF preview + centerweight metering did the trick on

the first and only shot) .Is the angle too high, horizon too low ?

I tried to get those clouds in as much as possible.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  3. I took this shot of the Verrazano Bridge from the Brooklyn side

within the first few days of purchasing my Elan II . I had never

used an SLR before, only point and shoots. I consider this one of my

best photos and have only had few come out as good this one since

then (1998)... Appreciate all comments and ratings

    Thanks, TB
