Nice etheral effect..... I can just about make out a face in the upper right hand corner
-
Is this a double exposure?
-
Nice angle
-
Leads the eye well
-
Too big, Resize
-
Great geometries, looks like you got the right metering, tough in these situations
-
A little fill flash (-1 EV ) would have brighten this up and given some detail to the clothes. Did you use evaluative metering ?
-
What's in the foreground? It doesn't do anything for the shot
-
Neat one. Perhaps if the bear looked this way or you included what the bear was looking at it would have been an excellent shot
-
good contrast of colors. One stop more would have given detail to the shadows
-
A little underexposed?
-
Great composition, the dog adds some extra detail
-
Reflection is a bit distracting
-
Lots of mellons!
-
Great contrast in colors
-
Very good use of color. I like the way you framed the chimneys with the branches (perhaps a smaller aperature would have sharpend the branches?). The rose attracts the eye very well

Can you guess what happened here? Luckily I got a clear snapshot of
my wife from 100 ft away behind a speedboat. A bit too fast on a turn
and wham! A split second moment in time, indelibly captured on film,
to immortalize the thrill of lake sports. Ratings appreciated!!

Looks like that's what happened. I started resizing to fit 600pixels and I notice the quality diminishing.

Actually, there could have been some detail in the moon with a double exposure. To do this, first take a meter reading of the entire subject and make note. Use a long lens say 200-300mm, set camera to multiple shot, compose so that the moon would be in left or right top corner ( make a mental note where the moon is in relation to the viewfinder), take the shot, then recompose so that mental image of moon's position does not interfere with the horizon or tree ( or maybe keep the moon close to the horizon for a moonrise). Now set EV compensation to -1 to -1 1/2 from original exposure you measured for the entire scene to underexpose on the same film ( you've exposed once already, need to decrease amount of light ). You may need to practice a bit but if you get the exposures right, you could create a really dramatic scene. This would probably work better if you first took the moonshot at night when its darker since the dark areas on the film won't record. If there are any better ways of doing this (I'm sure there is) please let me know.

Perhaps a bit underexposed? The side lighting looks fine but the left side fades into the darkness. 1 to 1 1/2 stop over could have put some detail into his left side. Maybe this is how you intended it to be ?

Could have used some subtle hint of mist or perhaps a sunrise or sunsest. Perspective looks good
-
Very nice. You've captured almost every color of the rainbow with this one
-
Thanks... this is one of the first ones I looked at

Canarsie pier is a good start. Anywhere in Howard Beach, along the Belt Parkway, or even Plum Beach ( great sand dunes there too!) will work as well. I've noticed that flight paths generally vary with season - winter and spring the planes are taking off from east to west and are a bit high ( but clearer atmosphere). Summer and fall, the pattern shifts to approach and the jets fly low, west to east. There is a place near the runway (13 L) in JFK, near Air India cargo, that you can park and the planes are literally 100 ft above you. May be tough nowadays to stay there, Port authority may chase you away ( check out jfktower.com, they have message boards that discuss new locations)
