I took this image during a two hour stay on Random Island near Clarenville,
Newfoundland. On our way to the location it was raining but the forecast
was telling us that the clouds were suppose to go away. It happened
exactly when we arrived at our destination. As a result we had a very
interesting light and dramatic sky.
Any comments and suggestions for improvements greatly appreciated.

Great image. I also find the foreground a bit busy though.

Very nice shot. Thank you for sharing. I was just wondering how did you avoid ripples on the water? Is it just patience? I am assuming you are standing (or at least your gear is) in the pond.

Beautiful. There is a bit of a haze in the air which I would probably try to get rid of in post (contrast/levels).

Great work. I love panoramas. This one I would print large and hang on my wall covering my window :). Whenever I attempt to take a picture like that I always think about ND grad filters. I wonder if it would work out in this case.

Thank you Stephen and Pierre for your kind comments. I do agree that the image is a bit soft. I am not sure why. I actually shot it with rented EF 16-35 f/2.8L lens. Camera was mounted on a tripod obviously. The overexposed image seem to have a bit of a mist in the city area present. Regarding the sky I do agree that it is the most interesting part of the image and that I should have include more of it. Just that it did not look that appealing when I was taking the shot. HDR makes it stand out at that is why I like this technique. I think that the greenish tint nn the sky is also an artefact of the HDR processing. I am just learning this. I am using luminance HDR. Maybe I should use the photomatix instead. I would like to try to take the same photo but with hard ND grad instead for comparison resins. Maybe one of those days when I finally purchase a set.

P.S. Your portfolios are superb guys. Congratulations.

Is it an HDR image? It is a nice picture. A polarizing filter would make the colors more intense so that HDR would not be necessary. I would also maybe zoom in a bit more and moved the horizon a little lower.

I would like to hear your opinion about this photograph. Thank you.

My friend and I were going camping one day. When we were passing the
Big Pond we both noticed something different this time. It was the
reflection, a rare sight in Newfoundland which is rather windy place.
We stopped the car, jumped out with our cameras and grabbed a few
shots. 10 minutes later the wind picked up and the reflection was gone.
I would love to hear you opinion about this image. Comments and/or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I love it. Thank you for sharing.

I like this image very much. However it looks like a horizon is not straight. I would probably rotate it a bit clockwise. Did you use any filters? What lens did you use?
Thank you for sharing.

When a friend of mine and his girlfriend decided to call it a night
and went inside their tent I recalled an image I saw here on PN some
years ago by Philip Greenspun I think. Put down the left over beer I
had in my hand and hoping that they will not turn their light off any
time soon mounted my camera on a flimsy tripod (the only one I had)
and shot a couple of shots. Now I know that I should have selected
different ISO to reduce the digital noise. Lesson learned. What do you
think?

I was lucky. The rain stopped, clouds broke up and the sun came out. I
had only 2 hours to take some photographs. That is one of them.
