To your journey!!! To my journey!!!!

This is really good, Ken. I like the composition and texture. The subtle color is nice too! Well done.

My wife and I moved our son and three dachshunds up to Nebraska last
month. So, being completely broke and needing some place to
celebrate our 5 year anniversary, we decided to visit the romantic
hotspot of Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska. I know, I'm such a
bum....oh well, I'll try and make up for it on our 10th. Actually,
this is a really neat place. Check it out...Oh and please for the
love of Conastoga, view this large....compression on Medium is
horrible.

Hey Ken! Nah, Nothing crazy insane like a Master's Thesis. Just moved the family up to Lincoln, Nebraska from Missouri. Hah! Yes I'm truly a Husker again. I was looking for a job this last month. Finally found one:) Whew!!!! Also, I'm at my limit here. So, I'm going to have to either delete everything and start over or pick a couple favorites and then go on. What do you suggest:)

Reminds me of something from a C.S. Lewis quote...."'We do not truly see light, we only see slower things lit by it, so that for us light is on the edge. The last thing we know before things become too swift for us.'"

Gorgeous! Eggplant isn't something you see photographed everyday. Well done!

Looks like he's getting ready to sprint! Fantastic as usual. Nice study of energy.

Ken, what do I do....I can't take my glasses off because I don't wear them!!!! ;) This is very nice! I actually like it with the non-overcast light.

Oh, Ken. You're a Horns fan....sigh.....I was at that game. Lousy last minute fumble. I've never heard a stadium that loud in my life:) It was fun...despite the result. You could tell the Texas boys didn't like the cold.
Originally it was too sharp. Coolscan V has good focus...almost too good on this one...so I tried to soften the grain on the face....perhaps I went a little too far.
What do I think when I take portraits. I guess I look for a moment when the person is being natural, being who they are. I like it, because of the reaction people get when they see the result. I like getting a good photo of someone who doesn't normally have a good picture of themselves. That's always nice. I'm not a big fan of the glamour shot type stuff....has its place, but it's not me. I've been trying to develop a style that's my own over the years. Lately, I've been somewhat frustrated with myself (in photography) I haven't had too many opportunities to take photos as of late. I've been so busy with the move, and not knowing many people here, I haven't been able to do what I love the most(portraits) This is an older shot. I haven't developed a roll in sometime. I just haven't been happy with anything I've shot lately. That's why I've been away from here for awhile. I'm trying to take a step back from my work. I did take a roll not to long ago, and will be developing it soon. Hopefully there's something in there I can work with. Some shots of the little guy:) Anyway sorry for my little rant. I'm going to try to take a bunch more rolls soon. I have 17 waiting for me in my fridge.
