What's next, a defense of dust spots as artistic expression?
maybe ?
a dusty and horizon tilted, splotchy, poorly exposed, poorly printed, photograph of something interesting beats a dustless perfect horizon of something uninteresting all day long.
the world isn't going to end because of dust or a tilted horizon line or poorly exposed &c image

I believe that's self explanatory and I've already answered that several times in this thread.
ive read the whole thread and i am not really buying what you are selling.
it doesn't really have much to do with mindfullness but it has to do with
someone uploading what THEY like, and you don't, so you are complaining about it.
-
And I'ld rather have a forum of differing opinions chime in on subjects like this in hope the folks who do these kinds of things with their photographs will read and be more mindful.
what does being mindful have to do with a straight horizon line ?

It’s (PM) already been suggested on the first page, and ignored....
That dog won’t hunt.....
“A little disingenuous to “Like” it there and rant on it here.
Why don’t you simply send her a PM with a little praise and tactful opinion?
We call that other stuff “two faced” around here....”
oops, sorry i must have missed it !

It's No Words forum for a reason. There's millions of images of pretty much the same type of scene and subject. I don't think it's my place to intrude on what amounts to someone else's own journey
i didn't mean in the thread i meant via PM
-
why don't you ask the people who posted the images ?

Hmm... cuz most of them
would wind up in prison...???

i meant style-wise / photographically speaking ..
i wasn't speaking outside the "scope of this thread"
but you do have a point i suppose...

why can't people just do whatever they want ? ..

You CAN develop Poloroid negatives in the traditional method? Could I ask you to elaborate on how to do this, please? I have several boxes(just about a case) of unopened Poloroid Type 58 film I am hoping to use- but they are all dated 1978, and my late father listed them as "dead?" on the box... If I can develop them normally, it might be a fun experiment!
Thanks!
not sure about #58 but #55 film was a panatomic x type film
this flickr thread has a starting point for pan x developing times
Panatomic-X development time | Kodak Panatomic-X | Flickr
i develop by inspection and use either caffenol of something like dektol / ansco 130
good luck!

Have you done camera movements with that lens?
Since it is in the Press Shutter it was probably also salvaged off a Polaroid copy camera.
Have you tried comparing it to a lens like a Symmar or Sironar on the same shot?
hello bob
the speed, has no movements other than whatever rise /shift is on the standard on the toyo, yes, but nothing drastic ..
i don't have a symmar of that focal length, still its image circle isn't as large as a symmar
( i never suggested it was or that it has massive coverage ) ... i don't own a sironar ...
sure the tominon doesn't cover as well as other lenses, .. it won't cover a 5x7 sheet but that's ok ...
when i use it on a 5x7 i expect it to vignette a little ..
polaroid was about 2 minutes away on the other side of the charles. levines used to get a lot of used polaroid copy stuff .. :)

I was hoping someone has first hand knowledge, who had tried it out.
hi john
yes it covers, or at least mine does ...
it came as the "taking-lens" / "attached lens" on my speed graphic ( 4x5 )
when i bought it from e.p. levines back when they were on 150 lincoln street in boston,
i've used it for 30 years on that camera and a toyo view camera with no issues whatsoever ...
a variety of distances from the film plane, portraits, architectural-stuff / site work
and at infinity, never a problem ( negatives and chromes ). its a nice little lens ..
and mine was sold in a self cocking copal type press shutter ...
good luck !

look for an old polaroid passport or portrait camera
all the work is already done for you .. and they cost a lot
less than a speed or crown graphic !

hi gerry
it was a technical discussion, about lighting &c.
critiquing the images or model's choice of eye liner
would like someone going to a mechanic-classes for a technical discussion about
rebuilding a car engine and someone critiquing the style of car or the driver.
they have nothing to do with eachother.
-
call paypal on the phone, you won't get a "canned response"
-
i see and understand what you are saying, but ...
i view mislead to be the same as manipulate
and every image made has been manipulated somehow
whether it was the intent of the person who made it or the "medium" itself.
What do you appreciate most in a picture?
