  1. I use a CLE as a street shooter, with a Canon 25mm f3.5 LTM (main

lens) and an Industar 50mm f3.5 collapsible Elmar copy (when I want

that "vintage" look). I'm thinking about adding a third lens for

this kit both for more speed and for a focal length between the two.

    I'm considering a Summaron 35mm f2.8 or Summicron-C (or Rokkor

40mm). Anyone compared the Summaron with the 40mm compacts?

  2. I seem to recall someone having an M body with a 21mm finder

inside. I use my 21mm ASPH enough that I'm willing to dedicate a

body to this---hate the squinty accessory viewfinders---I need at

least minus 2 diopter correction to see anything. Is this M body

modification doable? Or am I spending too much quality time with

    darkroom chemicals?

  3. I've used Contax, Canon and Leica SLR's. The Leicaflex SL is large and heavy---the tradeoff for the best viewfinder of any SLR I've ever used, including the Contax RTS-III. As others have stated, read Doug Herr's info on R bodies. The R4s mod P is a nice body, but once you peer into the viewfinder of the SL, trying to focus using an R4 will seem like going from a 35mm to a sub-miniature camera by comparison.
  4. With my M6 I don't get much use out of my 50mm 'Cron (the sweet one

with the thumb tab focus), preferring 21mm ASPH, 35mm pre-ASPH and

90mm Elmarit lenses. I'm not preared to abandon completely the 50mm

focal length, so I'm wondering about Canon 50mm in LTM, especially

the f1.4. I could save a few bucks with the Canon (well save toward

a second Leica M body), and gain an extra stop as well.
