I think you may be on to something here, but the foreground needs a bit more detail. As it is, we're not quite sure where exactly the subject lies.

Perfection in composition and color. The emotion and feeling this photograph gives me leaves me inarticulate. I wish, right now, that I were the man in the photograph. I want to BE him! And that's what makes this a successful work.. at least for me. Nicely done.

Nice! I think it might be interesting to burn down that highlight in the upper left corner. It's a bit distracting as it is brighter than your subject. Just MHO!

Exposure is problematic as is the cropping. The horizon splitting the officer's head in half disturbs me a lot. But that's just me. A higher or lower angle of view would serve this image well. Good idea though. Lots of life in this shot.
