    Thank you for the comment. I'm pretty sure the lenses I use are sharp and (at least most of the time) I get the subject focused, so those aren't a factor, but I have yet to get a scanned slide or print to match the clarity I get in the original. The slides I post here are from a Kodak CD and prints I scan on an Epson 636 flat bed at 300 dpi. I plan to get a film scanner soon, a Kodak 3600, which I hope will help.

     

    Some of the photographers here have wonderfully clear screen images. I just haven't learned how to yet. Maybe they had drum scans done?

    Steve -- are you joking? Mapplethorpe was an artist. This guy is playing in photoshop. Sorry, but they are on opposite poles. I won't even rate this as a photograph. It isn't one.
  2. I returned to see this again. It is a great photo. Part of me wants to see some detail in the faces, but another part doesn't mind. The composition is perfect. It reminds me of the great works of early masters. Bravo.
