Hello,
How do you remove the standard shutter buttton, and replace it with the release
plate shutter button? The standard button is in the bottom of the two holes on the
camera's front. The plate fits in the two holes, and has a larger shutter release. I
tried pulling the button out, no deal. It twists around fully, so it doesn't unscrew.I'm
perplexed, it seems like it should be such a simple thing! I do not want to force it!
Thanks!

Mike,
I use the Metz flash units withe the ttl sca390 module.

Mike, ditto QG. I have both the 553elx, and the 503cx. Both blink for a second or so, then go back to steady to go again. If you are wearing glasses, as I do, and it's fill flash outdoors, it's really hard to sometimes see the blink! Yet fact that the photos are well exposed is proof in and of itself, but I understand what you mean! Hasselblad probably could have put a bigger led in there, but I guess they didn't want eat up any valuable finder screen real estate! The hasselblad and Metz flash is a marriage made in heaven if you'll pardon the pun!

Hello all!
Will the infra red release for the front of the 555 eld camera fit my 553 elx?
It seems to plug into the two front release sockets on the 555; will it work on
mine?
Thanks!

Oscar,
I faced the same situation with my 503cx! I tried the 50fle, and just the 50cf version, without the extra focusing ring of the fle. Bought the cf, got a good deal, am very happy! The older lenses are long in the tooth, and as relatively "cheap" as used cf lenses are, that made the most sens to me.Plus another focusing ring is one too many!

It's for exactly this confusing and time consuming method of the 50cf fle extra focusing ring, that I bought the 50cf version! The newest Hasselblad lenses, for the H-1, etc., have the floating lens element moving where it should automatically while focusing normally, I think1

Hello,
My wife's and my schedule leaves us two options for death valley this spring.
Should we go last week in March, or last week in April? I realize the
vagarities of weather, rains, and timing of wildflowers bloomimng. But just
your opinions and recommendations, please!
thanks!

Michael,
I use the 60 ct-4 with my Hassy 503cx,with full ttl capability; works great! You can get a longer power cord for the heavy battery pack, and rest it on the floor.
Also, consider one of the self contained handle mount units, like the 45cl-4 metz, with internal batteries. You can also get a external metz or quantum battery pack, if you needed the extra fire power on a run and gun photo asignment!
When I really want to travel light with the Hsssy, light being a relative term with that camera, I use the Metz 32z-2 in the shoe on top of my prism , and it's ttl cords; works great!Metz has all kinds of acessories, too!

John,
I have them on my two A-12's. If I remember correctly, a hair dryer on hot will loose their adhesive. I have found no reason to remove them, they are so convenient! Instead of always having to fish around in my pockets or gadget bag, it's always right there! The newest Hassy backs have the holders on them from the factory.

Brad,
The Metz flash company has everything you want flash -wise for Hasselblad! A module, in this case #390, mounts between most of their extensive flash gun collection, and the cameras. It's quite a nice and comprehensive system
www.metz.de
The wireless slaves work just as well, mounted to the cold shoe, and the pc connection, and whatever. The ttl flash on the Hasselblad works great, and easily balanced for fill flash by just turning the asa knob on the side if the camera.

Yee,
You have basically a near new camera; it will do a lot of shooting before it needs service! Don't worry about it, they are well built cameras! Just use it and enjoy it!

Frederick,
That must have been quite a "wack" by looking at the hood! Aren't the Contax G lens hoods titanium?

Hello,
The bay 60 filter size I have on both my 50 cf, and my 80cf, sometimes is
either real loose , or real tight! I use Hassleblad filters, b+w, tiffen, etc.
Is there an adjustment on the flange on the lens, those prongs on the fiter,
or what?
Thanks!

Hello all!
Does anyone out there know how to tell a bride to get her moustache, chin, and
other facial hair waxed? I have a wedding coming up with this bride soon, she's
young but hairy, and I don't want her disappointed. My Hassy will pick up
every hair on her face, and I'm afraid she will hate the photos, and blame me!
Thanks!

Brian,
This is common problem from time to time with the backs. It just needs to be serviced and adjusted. You said it was just serviced and did this? How long ago was the service, and will they re-do it free of charge? Ask them!

Hello all!
I have a metz 60ct4, it's a great unit with my Hassy 503cx, love the
ttl! Is it possible to get a second flash head, and use the other
outlet in the battery pack to power it? It would give me a nice
compact two light set up for studio or wedding social event
photography. Also, it must consume a lot more battery life, any
comments on that aspect?
Thank you all in advance!

Mark,
Used the same unit on my 300ttl with Canon t-90 for years. It works great! One and a quarter stop less light. Good for portraits, but groups it is not powerfull enough, you wait for ever for recycle!

Anne, That is a difficult situation! I usually run into one or two camera shy guests, but half the darn wedding party? You sound like you did ok!
Sometimes people are self conscious, and are afraid of how the pictures will portray them. Other times they are just shy.

Good answers from all!My two cents: MANGIA! You should eat before the event, maybe lightly, and when scouting locations at the event , introduce yourself to the catering staff. I usually compliment them on there work I might have seen previously, or my present impression.Discus the wedding somewhat with them, timing etc., and ask about the food, and plenty of times they let me get a little bite here and there; like they're not? Then, a meal of some sort later , after the pre-ceremony, ceremony, and recessional shots, not to mention maybe a stop at a garden location on the way from ceremony to reception location. But I eat fast, and as a previous poster stated, you've got your eye on the action, and are loaded with film, compact flash cards, whatever, and are ready to go. Then it's back to work!
No one mentioned booze, here's my rules; don't. Don't lose your focus, literally, and if something goes wrong, guess what? They'll say you were drinking. Not a good thing; for reputation!
OK, at the very end of the event, maybe , just maybe I'll have ONE glass of wine! And then double check all the cameras again, and keep shooting...

Hello,
Which on line labs, like ofoto, etc. do you like? For both mailed in
film and up-loaded digital files.
Thank you all!

Wee,
I have the 35mm f2, it is a spectacular lens! Sharp, contrasty, brilliant colors! My wife and I agree it's performance is top notch, wether it's bokeh is "better" than the 35 f1.4, we don't know. I do know for the price/value, you can't go wrong with this great lens>

Hello All!
Just recieved my new 50 f2.5 macro. All my other lenses have B&W kr
1.5 filters on them for protection, and a slight warmth, plus the
factory lens shades. The Canon macro's front element is so recessed,
do I even need a filter? And being out front without a hood, would a
filter inhibit light transmissionm because of reflections? Also, I
have the 220ex and the 420 ex flash, and the ocsc2, how should I
mount the flash, to the side, bounce card from on top, etc.?Thanks
in advance.
