    Medley of decay

I like the muted colors and the texture of the surface, but the out of focus areas really bother me for some reason. Maybe just a little more DOF would make the difference.

I hate most of the pictures taken of me as a kid - I bet she'll love this one after she's grown up. Well done.

Really nice - love the almost monochrome look - did the woman in red just happen to be there by chance, or did you ask her to model for you? Either way, I like it.

An excellent technical accomplishment. As what some others have said - I've seen this before - but it's like chrome trim and art deco, no matter how many times you've seen it, if it's well done, it'll hold your eye.

From the thumbnail, I first thought it was some dried flowers, then I was thinking Photoshop. I can really say nothing else but well done!

Very nice - almost poster worthy (I can visualize this as one of the posters in a college student's dorm room) - the only nitpick I have is if there were some more chalk dust, the pic would be more dynamic.
  1. I see your point Levi - I guess this pic would work much better as a vertical, and by itself doesn't really do that good of a job in conveying the feeling of decay and gloom. Thanks for the comment and rating.

Sean - I don't know if it's compression artifacts making it worse than it is in the original, but the edges along her arms and hands aren't clean - it kind of looks like she was cut and pasted into the picture. Also her face is a little soft - the color in her dress makes it that much more noticeable.

The crisp edges of the lily pads, and the way the ripple doesn't obscure the flower's reflection make the pic - otherwise you'd just have a fairly flat picture. Well done.
