  1. <p>Hi: I want to use my two Metz flashes 60CT1/2 along with Wein safe sync on the hot shoe of a330. <strong>Which hot</strong> <strong>shoe adapter is required to sync these flashes</strong>? Have CTR 301P wireless triggers but useless when lot of photographers are working at the spot. I will appreciate any comments/help in this regard. </p>
  2. <p>Hi Jochen Schery: Which combination of SCA adapter and flash you are using? Presently I have 45CT4 with serial No.122343 and SCA 3000C will not function with it as per Metz module chart. Only Sr.# 205180 can take advantage of 3000C and SCA 3701 or 3702. Recently Metz 40MZ2 become defective and remote chances of its repair. So approach you to use my Pentax K100D in Manual mode and AF red light in jungle locations for focus due to aging eyes. Thanks in advance.</p>
  3. <p>Hi Stephanie: i have read in different threads of forum like MF lens, FM etc. the correction lens degrade the performance of lens and results achieved are not up to the required standard. Is it correct or not? In a FM forum thread poster mentioned "if u have <strong>rollei to eos</strong> adapter u can clamp it on the minolta mount and test it until 3-4 meters without any building". (Fredmiranda.com Alternate lenses thread-5 Rokkor 45mm f 2 by rsrsrs. i do not have this adapter and membership of fm otherwise i must have contacted the poster. Any experience of my colleagues on this forum will be greatly appreciated.</p>
  4. <p>Hi Stephanie: Very informatory thread for Manual lens users. Which Model and made of adapter you are using for MD/MC Minolta lenses? Is it with correction lens or otherwise and infinity focus is secured? I have few Minolta glass like 58/1.4, 50/1.2 is in the pipeline. Damaged 28-85 zoom during mount conversion now lying with technician. Thanks in advance.</p>
  5. <p>Ref JDM von Weinberg " The only difficulties are in using old manual lenses on which the aperture automatically stays open, so either special adapters may be needed, or you need to look for those with an A-M switch for the aperture". One can use it easily. I have Tomioka 55 1.2 screw mount lens using on 300D with adapter not have A/M switch. <b> Glued the pin </b>manual aperture control with good results. I was looking for this beast having inspired by my first camera Yashica Electro 35 normal lens of same made.</p>
  6. <p>Jim thanks for the guidance. My holder and wire connections were loose and not functioning properly on release of shutter gear shut down. I used Six AA holder of Metz 45CT5 and used good quality wire soldered properly it worked fine on Nicad/NiMH . It was all dummy but i will visit Lahore camera market to locate a winder/motor drive of film cameras having six AA holder like ME Super, Konica Autoreflex T4 or RTS to attach below the RebelD instead of using tape.</p>
  7. <p>Jim today i did the experiment by using the blank cartridge of 511 (as 300D do not have point for input) soldering wire and attaching first four AA clip (1.2 volts NiMH) and nothing happened and then increased one battery and later another thus six, only display appeared battery sign was flickering. I then off the gear to avoid damage. IMHO this gear do not accept NiMH as it is for amateur like compact cameras. What i understood the built in circuit of this machine is only for lithium so canon introduced BG-E1 which have groove for two 511 and not AA battery . Canon 350/400Ds have AA provision and for alternate supply i have to upgrade to other machine. </p>
  8. <p>i googled/yahoo and every site to locate AA BG to meet any eventuality above the original Battery 511 of 300D and to use built in flash freely but with no results. Only other alternative was Photo net where perhaps one of the cream of champions of photography exchange knowledge and this thread attracted for posting instead of starting a new one which was likely to be left unanswered like so many. I appreciate ur advice for making connection but whether this gear accept Nicad/NiMH AA or not? I have already damaged my old Metz 40MZ2 with NIMH so bit hesitant to go ahead and once again damaged to the gear. Jim how i can flare up when a hobby of photography have made me a slave and prisoner and thus remained un harmful from other addictions etc. Credit goes to the management who gifted membership to so many like me and my learned friends on this site who have done magic to make alive a four years old thread.</p>
  9. <p>Thanks Jim Strutz but my request is regarding 300D whose manual is silent on the subject. i know 10D/20/30 perhaps BG-E2 takes AA but Rebel D is quite different and being non-technical can not take risk of making holder of AA and attaching Nicad or NiMH with the gear. Whether a thread is old or new question is transferring/imparting knowledge to the members and not depriving if one is living in such part of the planet where canon service center is not located and many of my colleagues are having D5 and some like me are happy with Rebel because photography is hobby of innocent people. Again my question is attaching NIcad/NiMH/disposable AA battery so flash shot can be freely made in remote part of country side and no damage to the gear.</p>
  10. <p>I agree with Jorgen Udvang and it happened with me during location in a Jungle where my both batteries consumed and only nearest alternative was AA. Has any of my colleague tried self made holder/tray of six AA maganisum/disposable/NIcad/Nimh and powered the gear and it performed very well no damage to the machine? Canon BG-E1 do not have option of AA and even third parties have not made BP with AA. Comments will be appreciated. </p>
  11. <p>Hi folks: I am also among those poor photographers who has love for old machines like Nikon F4, FM2N FM, F90, EOS1N, Pentax LX, screw mount bodies and looking for digital back since long. IMHO if Leica can make a back for R8 & 9 then any third party can manufacture back of leading old workhorses. I picked EOS 300D with different adapters but no build like F4 or EOS1N.</p>
  12. <p>Hi Folks: After reading the comments of my colleagues, no one disscussed use of manual lense i.e. Pentax K and screw mount lenses with this gear although its name is Km which refleits possibility. Will appreciate comments on this side because have collection of few K/M and screw mount lenses. It is appreciable a 1o MP body have 4AA battery which is my weakness.</p>
  13. i have two timiokas 55 f1.2 screw mount lenses made in Japan. The cut on the back elements is design and not broken glass. No doubt excellent lens in performance i.e. sharpness, contrast, bokhe and modelling too. I put aside all my normal lenses of defferent made and using with adapter on eos 300 D.
  14. Hi Folks: I have D300 with Pentax K mount adapter and M42 Pentax ring. When I use Tomika 55 F 1.2 screw mount auto lens (not having A/M switch like Taks) it works in full aperture opening because the Pentax M42 ring do not have ridge to stop down the lens. Bulk of adapters appearing on e.bay but hesitant to pick up one due to the above reason.. I will appreciate if my colleagues let me know the specific dealer who make M42 adapter to eos with ridge to control the aperture of above lens and camera combination. Thanks in advance.
  15. Hi Ron Chappel: i have eos 300D and lot of pentax K mounts lenses collected during the years. On ebay there are lot of adapters with AF/non AF and am hesitant to buy the reason behind away from the territorial jurisdiction of ebay and non return of adpater. Can u help me which adapter brand will mount and function properly with above gear and film machines eos1N/Elen 2e and Rebel. Thanks.
  16. Hi Jason Hinds:

If ur 60CT2 is below Sr.# 46830 needs SCA 500 C(converter) to use with SCA 300 non AF/AF

adapters. If above that serial# then no need of converater & direct mouting. In 80s Metz was providing kits for modification to upgrade below that Sr.# torches and now same can be done by Bogen for directly mouting with SCA 300 non AF/300 AF modules.. For old torch modules/gear combination, contact message board of www.metz.de

attention Mr. Roland Laemmermann or Mr. Lutz Goeschel who are experts of modules and will advice SCA adapter. Rest assured do not use this torch through PC with latest gears because it has high voltage and

chances of damage. I did with 45CT5/F4S combination. IMHO for

Elan2/2E it is SCA 312/2AF and same for my EOS1N (now lying sick).

With MB60CTs one can not only glow half town but it is addiction.

User since 80s and collected few torches with different modules. It

was 45CT5 which attracts me towards MBs.For modules the best place is

www.keh.com and recently arranged through a friend C 81 for LX and C

50 for C/Y. Still SCA 500 modules and converter are in their site. My

2 cents and any further information will be appreciated. Gill

  17. Similar happened with my EOs1N on normal battery pack 2CR5 same error was happening and on attaching BoosterE1 itwas no more. As per advice i cleaned the terminal with spirit and on attaching the booster/normal battery,it went on deep sleep and never wake up. Now lying for repair. IMHO its booster drive point should have cover or tape while attaching normal battery pack. It is quite strange it was doing fine with booster E1.Only canon can revealor may be some circuit fault.
  18. My Nikon MD-11 drain the FM2N camera battry when it is on. i read

somewhere a few months back that if some tape is put on its contact

(which contact) and attached with the gear it will stop the camera

battery drain.i cannot take this risk to avoid any damage in the

gear/MD's circuit being non professional. Any input/comments in this

respect will save from this permanent problem.

  19. i have two Metz 60CT1 since long and now are releasing full light

instead of computer control. i presume its light intensity control

circuit is defective. Being old torches it is not economical/wise to

repair from Metz Werke. Appreciate input/comments if some of my

colleague repaired/replaced the light intensity control circuit

    himself.

  20. Hi Cheers:

i twice rebuild this pack. Simply open with care from the light glowing side remove plastic cover and then unsolder the connection wire and later remove the dead battery and replaced these with equal ampere/volage and solder all six battery and fit with care (place in the pack). Better if u made a drawing of old soldered cells. An empty holder is also available from Metz Werke to charge battery in normal charger and for using. Hope of some assistance to u.
