Statue near palace in the Hague, A little film would be too much for a
statue maybe, but some pictures on a row I think are fine. Nowehere
else in holland probably, this stuff.
-
This scenery is hard to compare with most else in Holland, pleasantly
away from much which sucks, as often with watersides. This is a sea
harbour (north sea), with storage space nearby for fishermen. Slides,
or at least better quality of the encoded result would be better.
-
There is a most of the way right about the atmosphere, maybe it should
have been taken with a bit more light.
-
A girlfriend took the picture, which turned out even more dramatic
after some brightness and sharpness adjustments.
More recent pictures at my local

Nice picture, what's the current?
-
Looks sort of half glossy in a way I like. Am not sure about the
realism level of the colours, but is was a warm sunny day, and that
gets across.
-
Somewhere between a good view and just bearable.
The bridge seems to lead to darkness, but it doesn't on the other
side there's more of the nice enough town.
-
A clothed beach picture with conventional camera, scanned
at reasonable resolution and some processing to change the
contrast curve, though not till the end.
The dunes' vegetation looses much of its sharpness through
the jpegifization, though the rest seems ok.
-
View this one at high resolution, that's what it
has been processed for, otherwise it becomes
unproportionally fuzzy.
Aren't these sharpening filters (sampling derivative based) something...
I remember photoshop does this stuff pleasing,
though not mathematically very tracible.
-
I'd have liked the photo to have been a bit wider, but
it wasn't. I never sow such a track before amd it had a
nice quality to it; I didn't get the bus in line
very sharp but the idea works.

Would they make the metal rust this way for eastetical reasons or is that mere chance..
Without it, a lot of colour interest
would be gone.
-
I should have used a tripod, a light meter, more orchestrating andchoosing of frame and distance and it might have been a cheep sensitive film (it was on a holiday), still I like it as such a shot.
Don't hesitate browsing some pics on my server.

I was looking through some of the camera test pictures, I tried more
than a few cameras for price/Q ratio and serious applicability, and
downsized this one te be sharp enough.
-
I'm sure there are many books about the subject
stating more than I know, but I guess you could
try to focus on the centre to make the fine
detail there a bit more liny. It could be just
the jpeg, but it would seem to me that pinkys'
backside isn't as shart as its most close leaf
endings.

Is nature this way? It at least isn't as organized and slick as
it is portraied often, and in this case there is just an amount
pf disorder and a strange type of non-offensiveness, which
probably is part of the picture process.
-
It looks best in high res (on a 1400x1200 its a nice background), though I didn't get the sharpness up to full possibilities with the Gimp package for that completely, though the scan resolution would allow it.
I might put the highres on my own server (currently here, see via theover.tripod.com), I'm in the process of getting my files organized.I put another, bigger one http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1179470">here.

It wasn't me he took the picture (I'm at the piano), it's more an athmosphere idea, not an aestetics prize attempt.
-
contrast/brightness adjusted globally, cropped a bit.
-
the motion, general impressiopn and I guess a certain athmosphere I
wouldn't know how to paraphrase. I took this pne straight from the
cam, no processing.
-
kodak 200 or 400 film, I forgot, scanned, not much processed, though
it seems a tft monitor I used before made this version a bit brighter.
Monument for (late) dutch queen, I think during wo II.

Monument is sort of placed in the focus point of the wall if it were
mirroring. It isn't, and the sun probably never is right, too. The
Hague itself is not the worst city.
