  1. I have the manual for the zoom2

    but no scanner : (

almost all the required instructions are already

    printed on the back itself

very important thing to remember is to close the darkslide

before winding the film, else may lead to quite expensive

repair needed in the format select blinds : (

    don't ask how i know ....

  2. Hi

Word of caution against the lens wraps

I used to use them, can't exactly remember the brand

came in 2 sizes, and in red, green or blue color

It self detioriated, maybe due to the heat / humidity of Singapore ?

left behind was 2 layer of cloth, and lots of fine rubbery foam

that came out from inbetween the 2 cloth layers : (

not very nice/easy to clean off

luckily the lens were capped ....

now i just cap the lens and chuck them into individual

    pockets configured in the phototrekker

  4. hi

If you are based in the USA, skgrimes makes a large focuser too see

    http://www.skgrimes.com/thisweek/1_8/

    http://www.skgrimes.com/thisweek/1_5/index.htm

( Disclaimer : I have never used his products before

    but he's got a great reputation )

    Also here is another site

    http://www.fotographis.com/campages/4x5.htm

that uses a Nikon 50mm helical

I tried that with a carl zeiss 50mm but my Fuji 65mm F8 rear element

is too big to fit in : (

Think i may fabricate sliding tubes for focusing instead

  5. Aside from sizing the paper

another consideration is the possibility of your solutions

You can add some sort of surfactant to reduce the surface tension

of the chemicals so that it will absorb more evenly into the paper

( I thinks i read that somewhere on the web )

do a search for Mike Ware + tween20 and you should get the pages

  6. Hi, i am not john

But maybe it's a height thingy

I am only 174cm tall and the highest my camera go is around the neck to chest level , but most of the time nearer to ground level at maybe

knee to waist height, so maybe thats why i don't find the 3001 flimsy ?

  7. Hi Todd

    Just curious

Did you try to lift the camera + tripod via the handle on the camera

or did it disintergrate just on the weight of the camera only ?

The canham has no handle for you to lift, so that would solve one problem : )

But seriously, even a metal camera when taking a tumble might not survive any better than a wooden one, the parts can get bent beyond

fixing .... only thing is that they don't rot

  8. Hi

    I use a bogen 3001 ( manfrotto #190 ) with the 3055 ball head

( manfrotto #168 ) with my DLC, the tripod seems to sag a bit when

the camera is placed on it, but then settles in nicely and doesn't

seems to suffer anymore : ) no unwanted vibrations etc that i can tell...

  9. Hi

I don't think any body does the programming for stealth mode

only the original black series has stealth mode

and then they abandon it due to infringing on somebody's copyright

so they don't have it anymore

The only reprograming i've seen about the hexar is for the

flash function + ir focusing etc which u must send back to the agents ?

Maybe someone who knows how to get it done will chip in

anyway, the hexar without silent mode is already very quiet
