A really really really beat up IIIc or IIIf (but I think it's a IIIc)

Whoa.. depending on how often the equipment was used (if at all) will help determine current market value. The M4, if it's in good condition, should fetch a fair price (I think $1,000 USD + ) because the M4 is probably one of, if not the, most valued M camera around. At least that's what I keep being told :) (I only have an M3 and an M2).
The two Summiluxes (Summili ?? :) ) should also fetch a fair price if they are still clear, unscratched and no dings/rub marks etc. It looks, based on Leica M lens serial numbers: ( http://www.forloren.dk/lbf/leica_lens_serial.htm ) that the first Summilux was produced in 1966 and the second in 1970 but that's just a guess.
You could always check with a local camera store but 9/10 you won't get full value because they need to make a profit on the sale of the items (because you know they're going to turn right around and sell them). You could go the route of Ebay or you could just sell them right here - where any number of folks would probably jump at the chance as long as the items were kept well and don't need a CLA :)

Thanks Trevor :)

Do you or anyone else have examples of how B&W would scan through this model? Say Tri-X or such?

I live in Canada and I always ship (unless the buyer is not willing to pay at least half the cost) via ExpressPost, which is Canada Post's expedited service.
It gets from here in Toronto out to Vancouver in about 3 days. It gets to most major U.S. centers in about 4 days and rural America in about 5-6 days.

You're talking lens choices and not body types right? ;)
Wide :) I use the CV 21mm as my "28" :D

It was from me Jerry :)

I was told not to collapse the 90mm f4 (the old original one from the 50's/60's) on the M6 because it would damage the metering on the camera.

Now though, I obviously know better :)

Hey Peter :)

I was told that collapsing the old chrome elmar into the M6 was a big "no no", so I don't collapse it when it's on the M6. On the M3, sure, no problem but I don't want to "try it out" on the M6 only to find out I'm wrong :D

I'll do a search online to see if I can find a definitive answer as I wa s told this information by the gentleman that sold me the lens.

Cheers
heh.. Ya Robert.. you're correct - I'm just going by the equipment I have :)
I've got the old 90mm Elmar f4 collapsible - chrome from way back.

Beautiful shot Andy :)

Rene, it is a chrome lens and was made for the M3 (the Leicaphiles here can correct me if I'm wrong - nay.. they WILL correct me if I'm wrong ;) ).
You can't use it with the M6 or any metered body (I guess that means the M5 too) since collapsing the lens would damage the meter mechanism if I am to understand what I've been told :)

Poppycock :)
My IIIc had Neopan 1600 in it recently and did just fine when I carried it with me all over the place. How does it handle "fast" film?

Drinks
No problem :) (shot with a 35mm f3.5 summaron).
Cheers
Dave

Hmmm... I'm not sure exactly but I have a IIIc and what I've used it for is for shutter speeds that are slower than 1/30. The previous answer is probably correct but seeing as how I don't use flash bulbs (nor do I have the attachment for said bulbs) I simply set slower speeds with that dial.

Seems to work pretty well imho. The following image was shot at 1/4 handheld using my IIIc.

heh... Josiah,
I meant what I said - you can't get a 15mm that's THAT good for the money. :) I'm not knocking the lens, it's a great lens, I've got one myself and wouldn't part with it for anything :D

Cheers
The 15mm is a great lens for the money imho.
It's so much fun to use and, really, I think having fun is important when you're taking photos :)
What bag for Leica M?
in Leica and Rangefinders
Posted
Third on the Domke F-803 - has more than enough room for a second body (without lens attached) should you want to carry it. Also a lot of room for lenses and film all in a nice compact "non camera" bag.

Cheers,
