  1. Messing around with a different look. Set the camera to B&W mode and

set up 2 strobes. Model is 52 years old and wanted to have an

exceptional image to put on her bedroom wall.

    The Dancer

Yes she can dance and she does quite often in those shoes. She is a dancer at a "mens club". Metering was done at four points of the shot and the lights were moved several times until we go it right. The idea of the shot was to produce a soft feminine shot that was sexual yet tasteful. The "white spots" are reflections in the clear tops of the shoes. Unfortunately we did not have any dulling spray around at the time. Guess I could have removed them in photoshop but they really don't bother me. She and I are selling copies of this shot in up to 24"x36" if anyone is interested.

Dan, Shots like this need some special lighting. Try reducing the background light and adding a snooted light that only brightens the face. Have the model not press so hard with her arm that's covering the breasts because it causes them to appear unnatural. Focus is a bit off too.
  2. Nothing but cropping was done after the shot was taken. It's DOF that added the softness.

    LOL - her number? Yep, it's 10!

No, it's not old now, I forgot to change the exposure date.

Thanks for everyones comments, I really appreciate the feedback.

    Looking In

I like the idea, but it looks as though its been created in photoshop. I get the impression from the photo that I'm looking in from an inside doorway, not a window (angle of view just doesn't "feel" like a window. I may be wrong. But I like the idea and the photo.

  3. I used a piece of black toule over the lens for a softer focus. It also added the sparkle to the diamonds. I also have been finding that when converting from a NEF to a JPG the files tens to look softer no mater what I do.
