The Covering on my N90S Film access door has become sticky over time. I have not been able to find any type of cleaner that takes care of this. Any ideas?

advantage?
in Nikon

I wasn't sure which forum to post this to because it applies to all brands. Would there be any advantage for Nikon, in this case, make a digital camera that had no video capabilites. Would a camera like this result in increased capabilities in other areas such as frame rate, buffer size, etc. ?
-

A friend of mine is telling me that I will get better result if I update to a D7100 with DX lenses. I dispute this. All my lenses are Nikon 2.8D, except for one cheapo 70-300ED 1.4-5.6D. I maintain that using non DX lenses on a DX camera should give better results. He doesn't. My other option is to go with a D600, dust issues aside.

1024X768, 32bit/70Hz. This has not changed for years. Apparently something has changed on the Photo.net site. I can't prove this, but is seems like this first started when there were links to facebook, etc.

Sometime back I posted a question on this same subject. I now have further info. On my computer, windows XP SP3 and a non wide screen monitor, Photo.net's web site at some point started to display wider than my monitor width. All other web sites are normal. The standard answer previously was to change the screen setting to something other than 100%. To me this is a bandaid at best due to the fact that recently I used an old winXP SP3 computer with a non wide screen monitor, and your web site did not go beyond the width of the screen. This happened on my computer sometime within the last year, I believe. I could not find any internet explorer 8 setting differences between my computer and the one I tried that worked, e.g. page settings or encoding. My encoding has always been set to auto select as is the computer that displays correctly.

The other day I spent nearly 3 hours going around to different stores trying to find my usual prefered film, Fuji Reala. None available. In fact the only film I could find Kodak Ektar 100. It was refridgerated but passed its expiration date. I'm afraid the handwriting is on the wall. The city I reside in has a population of 400,000.

I've posted about this myself quite a while ago. If I don't sign in, this doesn't happen. Maybe if we are lucky, this will get fixed some year. I use winXP and IE7.

no matter where I leave a particular page, going back always puts the previous page to the mid point of page.

I tried various posts per page with no change. I am not able to comply with the other request. There is no "copy link location" option available to me. It should make no difference, but I use windows XP SP3.

I just discovered that if I log off, this "problem" goes away. I repeated this several times to be sure.

Compatability view did not make any difference

I use winXP SP3 with windows explorer 8.

For about two weeks now, when I open any post from the unified forum, the post answers page does not open with the first answer, but opens mid page. I then have to scroll up to the first reply. Not a big deal, but it's annoying.

Which Nikon digital SLR's will allow full autofocus with non DX autofocus lenses?

My wife and I were on vacation and we got off the highway in Ohio to refuel. Just as the off ramp ended there was a wrong way sign facing me with a hawk facing the other way. The camera was in the trunk.

I have not had to worry about the quality of the Nikon straps. I always use a tripod.

My wife and I were taking a trip and apon taking an off ramp to get a bite to eat, I saw a large hawk facing away from me sitting on a wrong way traffic sign.

I used to buy locally even if it cost more. Years ago, there were 4 large photo stores. Now, even if I want to buy locally, there are no store stocking Nikon.

My wife got a Canon SD1200IS point and shoot for Christmas. Is there any way to set the ISO to 100 and shot in "auto"? If I set the ISO to 100 and then go to auto, the camera reverts to ISO 400.

Don't get me wrong, I in no way shape or means agree with there assessment. I should have clarified my original posting. The "average" listing was not in the text of the review of the D700. It was in one of those listings where different products are given a number in comparison to each other, along with limited text.

-

In the current issue of PC World magazine, they (whoever they is) rated the picture quality of the d700 as average. Every other review I've read has rated it higher. Any thoughts?

Nikon F. Been kicking myself for ever getting rid of it.

I too have experienced this. I have found if I double-click the back button in I.E. 8, the problem does'nt happen.

What? Somebody "fixed it" when it ain't broke?
