I like this as a study of abstract shapes. The structure of the ice and the stome (which I assume it is) adds depth to the shapes. A larger depth-of-field would have been beneficial here, since the lower left corner loses focus. That diminishes the overall impression.
  1. A few points of critique: the horizon is noticeably tilted, and there is too much area left underexposed. Since the aim of the picture is the beautiful sunset colors, cropping out much of the foreground would benefit the picture some.
  2. I made this photo with a 1/60s exposure and flash on second curtain

on a not very sunny day. The bicycle racers were braving an incline

of 16%, so they were coming by at a speed of maybe 25km/h (15mph).

This is a part of a slide I scanned and slightly enhanced (just

autograduation and some more contrast) in Photoshop. I like the

effect and the attitude of the racer in the foreground. Please give

me your opinion concerning technique, drama and cropping, as well as

any other comment that would prove useful. Thanks to all!

I like this photo a lot, great posture, and the blur has a nice softening effect. Just two points. The shoreline may either be parallel to the top edge, or more tilted, if you want the effect. And it seems as if the focus is in the plane of her arms. That is a little odd.
