i told the guy i wanted some med. res scans. he said ok and scanned them for me. when i open the images in photoshop they say w -33.3
h - 50 resolution 72. Is that the same as a 8x10 at 300 dpi???
-
If i have a image scanned in at
w-722
h-480
resolution-72
and i then go into photoshop and change the resloution to 300 is it
the same as scanning it in at 300? Meaning would it be the same
quality?

I do B&W still life's and landscapes. I had been using the Epson
1270 for 3 years and very happy with my results. In January, for
archival reasons, I purchased the 2200 and my problems began. My
blacks are really blocked up. When I look at the 21 grayscale card
on my monitor which is profiled with a Spyder, I can see all 21
shades of gray. However, when I print out the grayscale card, the
last 5 are all pitch black with no delineation between them. My
midtones just jump into light gray. The white are fine.
I print on Epson Enhanced Matt Paper and use the Black Matt ink. I
recently downloaded Epsons new profiles, but they have not helped.
If anything, it is worse. I think I may just have some box
somewhere checked incorrectly.
So that's my problem. It seems simple, but I have tried just about
everything I know to rectify this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time.

its images of the winner of the pageant. The client asked me for them so she could have them placed in a local magazine.

I just did a shoot for a local business of some girls in a pageant.
Well i was paid 500.00 for the gig which included a few images for
the girls. Well they need a few images to publish in a local
magazine. what is the normal charge for a 1 time reproduction? How
much should I charge for each image? Im going to resize them and
email them to her. I live in Louisiana if that makes a difference.
thanx!

neg off the watercolor the emulsion? (sticky stuff) half sticks and
half pulls away staying on the neg. Which totally meses up the pos

I will be doing alot of commercial advertising work along with some
portraiture and fine art. My questions is what are your suggestions
for a good scanner ($1000.00 budget) for doing both black and white
and transperancy scans of mostly 4x5 and 6x7 format. Thanx ahead of
time.....jason

What scanner would someone recommend and why for my situation. I will
mostly be scanning medium and 4x5 trans and neg. My budget is no more
than 5,000.00. thanx
Microcard Error CF
in Mirrorless Digital Cameras
Posted
I have a Hitachi 4GB Microdrive card and I'm using a Canon 20d. I
took a whole bunch of shots with the camera at a local event. While
at the event I was able to look through the images with the camera.
Once I got home I turned the camera back on and it's giving me a
Error CF and won't allow me to view or download the images off the
card. Has anybody seen this before and know a way to retrieve the
images off the card?
Thanks for any help
