Please tell more about the story and tech. Thanks.

I like the way the boat seems to emerge from the frame. I can't tell about the sharpness of the image. What did you shoot it at? Also is there any detail in the sky to work with in photoshop? What about cropping some from the top?

Please share any thoughts, ideas and/or suggestions on how to prepare
this image or publication. This is from the first ever crossing of
the US on a paraglider. Both Sports Illustrated and book publisher's
are interested. My partner, Will Gadd, captured here over the
Mississippi is an amazing author, check www.ParaglideAmerica.com for
his daily logs from the flight. Outside Television shot hours and
hours of great footage to edit into a one hour special for OLN. Now
how do I take the raw images I have and best prepare them for
presentation? I am an amateur photographer, shooting with a digital
for the first time, with very little experience with photo
manipulation software. What are the strengths as well as limitation
of what I have? As well as what are the steps I can take to
improve? Thanks so much!

Great image! Well framed. I like the balance of movement from each corner and the lines connecting the two. Get an even better camera and lens so that you can continue to capture images like this with better depth of field and sharpness.

This photo was taken under extreme duress.
We were very low over extremely rugged and densly wooded mountains,
with absolutely nowhere to land... and then 'this' popped up. In the
western US flying this close to a cloud of this size and magnitude
this low to the ground would be crazy, bordering on suicide. The
relatively moist, stable air in the East made it somewhat less
stupid. But up until this point I had never flow in the east. As
scared as I was, I just knew I had to try to get at least a couple of
shots, and anyway, my friend Will was even closer and if hell started
breaking loose, it would pummel him first, giving me at least a few
seconds to put my camera away.
So this is a very long-winded way of saying there is not much I could
change and I don't know when I'll ever be in the same situation
again. But all that being said, any image can always be improved and
I won't know, if I don't ask. So please, give me your best shot.

Love the image. Great pov. How were the others in the series. This one seems a little hot - overexposed. Also if you get a chance to shoot more like this in the future, I would work to minimize elements in the background; car on hwy as well as I assume yours at the bottom of the run. Also having more bushes in midground and playing with slower shutter might give even more impression of speed. Building a camera mount, ideally above and behind your head would be an awesome shot. Be sure to send me image if you do.
If you get a chance check out some of my paragliding pov photos. Its alot easier sitting up. I've only luged once and I don't know if I would even think about trying to shoot. Maybe, only maybe on super staight run. Tom Mason is my cousin and he took me up to Castiac (sp?) Way too turny... and dark! Good luck.
