This photo was taken under extreme duress.

 

We were very low over extremely rugged and densly wooded mountains,

with absolutely nowhere to land... and then 'this' popped up. In the

western US flying this close to a cloud of this size and magnitude

this low to the ground would be crazy, bordering on suicide. The

relatively moist, stable air in the East made it somewhat less

stupid. But up until this point I had never flow in the east. As

scared as I was, I just knew I had to try to get at least a couple of

shots, and anyway, my friend Will was even closer and if hell started

breaking loose, it would pummel him first, giving me at least a few

seconds to put my camera away.

 

So this is a very long-winded way of saying there is not much I could

change and I don't know when I'll ever be in the same situation

again. But all that being said, any image can always be improved and

I won't know, if I don't ask. So please, give me your best shot.
