Thanks for your response, John. I am fortunate that I do not have to enter a bidding war. The department I am dealing with has the OK to make purchases up to $500 without all the government red tape.

Hello-I have been asked to provide photos to a local division of a federal government agency looking to update it's website. They have asked for a price quote. Is $50 per photo reasonable? More?

I have an intermittant problem with my D2X...it usually works fine (over 40,000 actuations) but sometimes after an exposure the image will not show up on the monitor on the camera...also if I push the menu button, the screen will come up blank. When this happens, the exposure counter will change from REM to C- REM...this happens regardless of if I am taking a single landscape exposure or a motor drive sequence filling up the buffer. The images are recorded onto the CF card but they do not show up on the screen. If I shut down the camera for a few minutes it will usually come back...I have tried swapping batteries and CF cards but that has no effect.

I shoot landscape / wildlife with Extreme 3 4gb...never had a problem with them even in very hot, cold or sand and dust conditions. Check Beach camera online...they are running rebates plus free (Fast) shipping.

Thanks,Josh...The site has been working much better lately.

Is there a way to remove and / or replace images in the ImagePro gallery once they have been transfered from the
Photo.net site?
-
The ImagePro site seems to be working much better the past 2 days.

I agree ,Chris.I know the ImagePro site is in Beta, but perhaps a few more of the bugs should have been worked out before it was released.I have spent several hours trying to build my site, but am becoming very frustrated.

I have noticed that a certain members photos are featured regularly in the
"Daily sampling of our members work" section of the PN homepage while the
majority of members are never featured.I'm referring specifically to Hector
Brandan's Hummingbird pics. His work has been featured at least 10 times in the
past month(including 2 pics in the same day about a week ago).True, his photos
are very nice, but I don't believe they warrant such exposure while thousands of
other equally worthy pics are never featured.

I agree about Fern Cyn. Also,if your lucky there might be a small herd of male Roosevelt Elk in the meadows just before Fern Cyn near the coast.Be aware of Mountain Lions...a man was attacked and killed earlier this year...dont let the kids wander.Enjoy...it's a beautiful park.

I have a RRS BH-55 and I love it.I've shot in snowstorms and sandstorms with no problems.

I use a Gitzo 1325 with a RRS BH-55 Ballhead and the Sidekick with my D2X / 500f4P lens
and I love it.Gives me flexability and stability.

I love my 70-200 VR...I also have the TC-17 Converter...they work very well together. The
Bokeh is superb. Last week I shot a Coyote in Death Valley in a steady 40MPH wind
handheld at 1/160 at the pics were tack sharp.

I would also go in March. I went twice in the last 3 weeks, and there were hardly any
wildflowers (you should have gone in 2005).The best places to stay are in Beatty and
Parumph,NV. You can get a room at the Stagecoach Inn in Beatty for about $53.00 and its
only about a 45 min drive to Furnace Creek. If you stay in Beatty, check out the Ghost Town
of Rhyolite (10 min from Beatty).Theres no lodging in Panamint Valley that I know of but
there is an interesting ghost town there (Ballarat-If you go to Ballarat check out the old
green Dodge pickup...it was left there by the Manson Family) Be prepared for windy days in
the spring.I recommend going to Stovepipe Wells Dunes,Mosaic Cyn,Golden
Cyn,Badwater,Devils Golf Course,Ubehebe Crater,Zabriskie Point,and Dantes View.(they are
all accessible by 2WD cars.) Enjoy!!!

I worked at Panavision in the late 70's- early 80's. The 50 mm f 0.7 lens was designed and built by Panavision just for Barry Lyndon.
