Hi All,

I am going back to Cuba in January 2016. I have made some friends with photographers there. One guy in particular, needs batteries for his D200. Anybody willing to donate spare batteries or maybe you do not use the camera anymore? He was also looking for a manual 24 2.8 Nikkor lens.
Believe me, I have no skin in the game.....just trying to help someone in Cuba. Thanks.

Turn off the VR and see if it makes the same noise. I had a similar issue.

Isn't the primary idea of TTL metering is to not have to compensate?

Do I need to compensate for filters with the Monochrom?

Hi All,

I would like to visit India via a photo workshop. I have never been to India and I would like some input on where in India to go. North, South, etc? If you can recommend a photo workshop to India based upon your own experience I would love to hear about it.
Thank you.

I have the XT-1 with the 56MM, 35MM and 10-24MM. I love the images and portability. I still have my Nikon 810 for when the Fuji will not excel. The Fuji does not focus as quickly with moving subjects as well as the Nikon does.

I purchased a refurbished D800. It had 35 actuations! It has performed flawlessly. I am now selling it to go to the D810.

Not in stock anywhere in US.

I was there a few years ago. Amazing to say the least. I would go all digital with the V1 and D3. Leave the 80-200 home like someone else mentioned. I would concentrate on portraits there. The people are such willing subjects so make sure you have a decent portrait lens. Very safe country. Here is the link of my book I put together from that trip.

My 2 cents.....I just purchased a refurbished D800 from Robert's in Indianapolis. I asked what refurbished was and was told samples, display, returns are gone over to Nikon specs and all the accessories would be new. As for actuations I was told they are usually under 2k. The first thing I did when I opened the box was check the actuations. To my surprise the count was 25! I am sure there is a wide range but the original poster was right in returning his D3 with that many actuations. The camera was a bargain at $2300.

Thank you, Ralph. I think i will go with the A7 as opposed to the A7R. It is my understanding the A7R is more suited to landscape, as opposed to movement. The A7 is supposed to be better in those situations like street portraits.

Hi Sony experts,
I am looking to put together a full frame camera and a portrait lens. Is this combo the best I can do outside of Canon/Nikon? I have a Nikon D700 but I like the smaller A7 size and I think I like the 135 1.8 as the best portrait lens out there. Plus I hear the A7 might be better suited for portraits than the A7r. I do my portraits on the streets and typically shoot from the waist up. I will keep the Nikion and lenses. This is my portrait gear. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Bob

Mostly from the waist up....so the face is the dominant subject.

Hi,

Looking at the A7 or A7r to supplement a Nikon D700. Can the Nikon 24-120 f/4 and the 70-200 f/2.8 be used on either body with an adapter? Are there any limitations with using these lenses on these Sony bodies?

Thanks,

Bob

Seems prudent to invest your money into quality Nikon lenses and not the bodies. D4, etc.
