  1. I have been waiting for an A3 printer from Canon to replace the

9900. I would like something thats makes prints that last longer

than a couple months without fading. I have been waiting for the

new canon, will it ever arrive? Score one for Epson. I would also

like an 18-200 IS EF-s Lens like the Nikon. Will it ever come? Score

one for Nikon. I guess Canon cant dominate every sector of the

market? Ohhh ya I would also like more time to go out and shoot.

    Merry New Year.

  2. I dont want to sound "mean" but the software that canon supplies is "iffy". You would be better served by downloading Picasa II and Raw shooter Essentials. My canon software is still sitting in its sealed packing LNIB. I have a card reading, I find it a far better soulution. Also, the new Elements 4 is coming out, a real bargain for 99.00.
  3. I guess I just got a stellar copy or maybe my L was below par? Just another circular argument. In this case many circles the next smaller than the next. (DO Joke, Sorry) Bye the way, that is a very handsome lens thanks for the photo! The lens you were using to take the photo seems to be very sharp. That is of course unless its anything other than an L lens, then it appears to be a little soft.
  4. Richard? Do you own a 70-300 DO? I do and I also owned a 70-200 2.8 L. I was so satisfied with the DO lens that I sold the L lens. The DO is every bit as good as the L lens from 70-200 and better from 200-300 ;) . Granted I miss the 2.8 to 5.6 performance but I rarly used it at those F stops. I dont miss the wgt. and size. I have never had the ghosting or flare issue arise and i use if for sunsets. I did have the old 75-300 IS and was unhappy with it. But since I will be using the 1.6 crop for years to come, I have made all my lenses that much better.

Iam not an idiot as you imply, but I am not easily offended either. If you follow Canons product line, (geeks only), An opening will exist in the bottom of product line that the 300d was holding. A D50 killer if you will. I can see Canon pumping out a really cheap DSLR below the 350XT placeholder for 500 bucks. I know this is pure speculation but all you have to do is look at thier film camera product line to figure it out. The DSLR product time hasnt had time to "mature" yet. I guess only time will tell if I am strage or wierd. But thanks for thoughts, no such thing as bad press! Cheers.

  6. The 50 2.5 macro is a highly rated lens on photodo. I had one and really liked it. I traded it to get the 100 2.8 macro and regret getting rid of it. It made a great walk around lens for street photography. The 1.8 is good for low light but how often do you really need the extra stop? The 50 2.5 was very sharp at 2.5 the 50 1.8 is not sharp at 1.8 and doesnt really get shapr until 4.0, at least mine.
