Jeff, I expose Delta 100 at ISO 64 and develop it for 75% of a recommended time. Further control of a contrast is done with manual printing on a VC paper with varied dilution of a paper developer and the development time.

Dave & Paul,
the glove is out of focus completely intentionaly. It is quite a standard approach to put in focus the main subject of the photo. Here, if the glove would have been in focus, all you would see would have been the glove. All people who saw the original photo at the first glance saw a ... hand. My intention was to create an image, not to document a glove... Exposure was handheld, but there is no noticeable handshake in the print, although I took this shot around 4:30 - 5 am and still am surprised it came out, as I was falling asleep and my legs were shaking;)
Thank you for your comments. -
This photograph was taken during the tragic events in New York.
The pain and sadness can not leave me...

Thank you, Kevin. The frame is done in PS. Imagine that every line around the image is a rectangle, placed under it in a separate layer. The larger the rectangle, the lower the layer is. This is the principle for making such a frame.

Thank you. It is actually not a reflection. There are 2 negatives used in printing this image - cloud + sun and the building.

The firemen actually are in focus. I used slow synch to capture their motion. It is however completely lost in such a small scan...

I wish this was only a cloud... The dark areas are a result of burning during printing and filtration during the shooting.

I have to agree with Alex. My intention was to create an image, which is very well, actually, characterized by Brian. The power that is contained (but not released!) in the male hand and of coarse ambiguity of the resolution of the scene that would entirely depend on background of the viewer. This may be a hand holding a woman and preventing her from falling down, holding her from flying away as both bodies rotate in a dance,
it may be a passionate reach for a loved woman, extremely powerful one yet not harming at all, just showing the potential masculine power that women enjoy so much...
