not at all Kelly - I'm glad somebody enjoys my picture. Thanks! And thanks for retouching - I don't have my own scanner yet and the one I used wasn't the cleanest. Have a good time this evening!

That's one of those pictures where you don't have to say "if olny this would be moved there and this cropped...". It's just perfect as it is! Pure and simple. Thnx for postig it!

What do you think about this take on Spanish Steps (Rome)?

I would appreciate your comments on composition and other details.

Thanx for kind words. Yeah, it's scanning but I can't get to a better one yet...

Thanks for comment Ying Tang! Unfortunately I don't know the exact figures but I can tell you what I generally did in this pumpkin-photo-session. I used a tripod of course. I mainly used apertures of f/5.6 and f/8 and let the camera decide on shutter speed (longest ones lasted about 30 seconds). I made three shots of each - correct exposure and underexposure of -1 and -2 stops. There was no additional light in the room - just what you see. The problems I faced were the size of the pumpkin - in a larger one candles wouldn't be seen (Actually one can't see them when there are no back fire in the picture but I won't post these).

I'm surprised nobody has commented on this picture. Very nice golden tones, interesting caught-in-action silhouette and good balance of black at the top and bottom of the picture. Like it very much (and I'm saying this about all your portfolio).

Thanks for comment Philippe. I have looked at the picture a lot but haven't noiced that he's reading his newpaper sideways previously. Thanks for noting that. May be he's having a different approach... :)

I think the picture shows a story of this Italian and his typical
midday. He is sitting on the street and reading his daily paper,
trying to get a bit of shadow, but it's still hot - that's why the
water bottle. You can also see his mean of transport and his
occupation, a shop in the background. A little sun light on the
street in the foreground shows that there are houses on reverse side
of the street. What do you say - do you feel this here or should I
crop it? Something else?

So colourful and so unreal (ecpecially this stone-blue). Nice!
-
Nice shot! Very nice colours! I would suggest to leave the upper part from this photo but lower part from the original. Cheers!

Does it feel dimensional - like trees are there and you could grab
them? How does the background fits there? Any comments are
appreciated ecpecially those with some advices on possible
improvements.

It was shot just before sunset. There is a huge crowd of people all around all the time in the palce and it was challanging to shoot it. As I didn't have a tripod with me there I used my photo bag as camera holder and exposition was 2" long.
