Stephen, Thanks. I was of the same opinion regarding that space. Also thanks for the suggestion as far as the gradient; I'll have to give that a go.

Thanks, Alex, for those very kind and thoughtful remarks

Whether the empty sky that fills about half the frame is effective in
this photograph, or anything else pertaining to it. Thanks for your
time and thoughts.

I photographed this juvenile Yellow Crowned Night Heron taking flight
the other day at Black Creek Park in Fultondale, Alabama. Please feel
free to comment and criticize. The equipment was a Canon Rebel T2i,
Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Trisha, thank you for taking the time to comment. The movement has fizzled out, and most of the messages painted over, but the city is trying to make strides.

Thanks, Amy. I first saw this a couple years ago, but didn't have the right camera/lens available at the time. I have returned a couple of times since, but until this occasion, either lighting or lack of nearby cattle rendered the scene unsuitable for my purposes.

Comments and criticisms appreciated. Had the opportunity to take this
at the Sipsey Wilderness in northern Alabama. Thanks for your time.

I appreciate your honest assessment. Also I'm fairly certain they've curtailed the executions for mid-to-low ratings, particularly when they're justified with sound reasoning.

Thanks, Saad. I have gone back and done so in the file on my computer. Just a little sharpening made a difference, like you suggested.

Thanks, Billy. I have newer, better scans of this photo, but they just don't exhibit the same atmosphere as this one.

Saad, I made the same observation about the distractedness caused by the posts after posting here, and have since done as you suggested. Thanks.
