Soldiers With Ice Cream DSC_4376

Aestheteically the black and white tones are excellent. It is ironic to see solldiers with weapons slung over their shoulders and at the same time enjoying an ice cream cone.

I've always thought you rather brave to be so cavalier in photographing men with guns but standing there with ice cream cones these two otherwise intimidating looking citizen protectors seem much less threatening than others you have photographed. I suppose that illusion would evaporate with the last of the cones. The ice cream does put a more human face on these soldiers. Well seen & captured. Best, LM.

I agree, the contrast is so big... these ice creams make them quite cute... I keep marvelling at your b&w's, one day you must tell me your secret how you get such great tones;-)
