Wayne Sadler 570 Posted August 29, 2009 Artistic imaging is often waiting for distractions (cars at the gas pump) to move out of the way, and then trying to see a thing not just with your eyes but with memories so that what is before you seems not just a store, not just rocking chairs on a porch, but somehow the best of every rocking chair, every country store you’ve experienced or imagined. The dream like soft focus and subdued coloration was an attempt to make this image more timeless. I would appreciate any critique. Link to comment

mark_starr 0 Posted August 30, 2009 I like the image and the feeling you have created, but I wonder how it would look a little lighter than it is now, as it might bring out more detail on the left end of the porch? Nice work, and thanks for sharing it with us- Mark Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks, Mark. As small as it is, you're right the darkness of the rectangle to the left turns it into negative space. I will work on selectively lightening - I kind of like the "feel" of the darker values in the rest of the image, kind of adds to the long ago, rustic sense of the place. Link to comment
