lesliejbng 0 Posted August 15, 2009 Great composition and I love your choice of B&W. So many masts and the bridge and it's lines framing the top of the shot makes for a wonderful image, not to mention the light reflections dancing on the underside of the boats. Excellent image! All my best, Leslie =) Link to comment

whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted August 16, 2009 A pleasantly crowded frame with a broad range of shades and tonality. Sharpness is in abundance too. Nicely done, Jim. Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted August 16, 2009 Were you in or out of the locks? It's always a busy place when the sun is out and the fact that they only open them at scheduled times. I like this in bw but bet in person the colors were amazing! All the best, Pamela Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted August 16, 2009 Thanks everyone for the kind comments and ratings. Pamela- This was shot coming out of the locks. I was very lucky that the boat I was on was in the front row so I ended up with this vantage. Attached is the colored version. I chose the b/w version primarily to emphasize the lines in the image. Lake Union was the craziest thing I have ever seen. Sail boats, Kayaks, power boats from 16' to 60'. Throw in sea planes landing and taking off, all in the shadows of the Emerald City. It was spectacular and a bit surreal. It was a great finale to a trip I will remember for a life time. All my best-Jim Link to comment

Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 16, 2009 IMO the colored version looks cluttered. I like your decision to use B&W. It shows the lines much better, which I think is the interesting thing here. What an amazing place! What trip was this you're talking about? Sorry, I guess I've missed that! Link to comment
