alfbailey 3 Posted July 20, 2009 The Crosby shore line in Liverpool is dotted with around a hundred of these "Iron Men" by the artist Antony Gormley, They hold a fascination for a lot of people including me, so armed with my camera, tripod, and and a pair of wellies, I undertook to capture a few images at high tide, I didn't expect the waves to be quite so high, and ended up with squelchy wellies and wet trousers, but I'd do it again with no hesitation. Any comments are very welcome , Thank you Regards Alf Link to comment

bruced530 0 Posted July 22, 2009 Alf I must say this is one great shot. Not sure If you familiar with Robert Taylor or not ,but he does great paintings and drawings of WW2 aircraft and ships as well.take a look at some of his prints and you'll see your sky is a perfect match. Very envious of this I must say ! Link to comment

trisha jean-angela 5 Posted January 10, 2010 Beautiful capture; I have not heard of these iron men before but now that I have seen your wonderful photos of them I am adding this beach to one of those I must visit one day! I love the wave in the foreground and the glow of the sunset on the statue and sea; very well seen. Another viewer mentioned Robert Taylor; I agree he is a very talented artist from England, and his skies are spectacular! I have met him twice and have collected some of his works for my son. Please do check him out! Thank you for sharing! :) Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 16, 2010 Of all the iron-man images, this is the one that appeals to me the most: the golden color, the texture and character of the waves. before I read about the iron man, I knew there was something different about the man. In a 'previous life' I was an 'ocean person' and when wading into water with this amount of movement, usually my arms would not be at my side, rather, slightly outstretched to give me balance as the waves would tug at me. Lovely image and well done. Link to comment

laufin 1 Posted May 24, 2010 This one makes me a little sad. It's as though he's waited so long for the return that the sea has grown around him. Link to comment
