Not Here 93 Posted July 20, 2009 Christal... Now this is more like art. Excellent composition that in this small frame you achieved such depth... Mike Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicely seen and captured, Christal. I wonder if the darker facets of the cacti were darker, would that add more depth and dimension? Just a thought, but this is indeed an eye catching image! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted July 22, 2009 You're probably right about that....I'll have to give it a try. I do like this a lot, and will probably print it and see what it looks like. Can you believe that I've never printed anything out for myself? What type of paper would you recommend? I'll have to take it to a photo shop, and I don't know what to ask for. Thanks for noticing my new stuff! Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted July 22, 2009 I think this would make a great print; the red background will make it really stand out. Remember to sharpen the print to where it looks too sharp on your monitor as the printing process by nature (small dots) will take some of the sharpening away. My two current favorite ink jet papers are Ilford Gold Fiber Silk and Harman Gloss FB AI. These two papers most resemble the fiber photographic papers of the darkroom and have a great DMax. The Ilford has a slightly less gloss silk like finish than the Harman. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted July 22, 2009 This is invaluable information.....thanks SO much! I'll print this out and take it to the fine photo store we have here in town. I've bought all of my equipment from them and they know us by now, so hopefully they'll be helpful. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted July 26, 2009 Really nice work Christal! I haven't been browsing around all that much lately so I am glad I came across your newer stuff. It is excellent! You really should consider purchasing your own printer, like the Epson 3800 or even the 4880. Yes, you might think too much for a printer at around 1200 to 1700 dollars, but you will never have so much fun printing your own work. This image would look incredible at 17 inches wide, the Epsons will give you perfect color from this! Link to comment
