gooseberry 0 Posted May 15, 2009 Taking advantage of both a calibrated monitor and software to tweak my images (neither of which I have had before), I've "remastered" this one, and -- since it's my favourite of the series -- decided to re-post it. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted May 15, 2009 Lighting, pose and composition are fine. Hat could use a touch of lighter tone, so that the texture is more evident. Crop line on right cuts the calf strangely - you might consider cropping at the bend of the leg, just to left. Regards, Jerry Link to comment

gooseberry 0 Posted May 15, 2009 Thanks guys!Jerry: I've tried cropping at the knee but it looked real odd to me while -- surprisingly to myself -- the way I captured it somehow feels well balanced (but of course, I'm too close to my own work to be objective). As for the hat, that's a tricky one: it's black on near black and I'm not good enough with retouching at that level yet. Moreover, I've observed that some images -- this one being a prime example -- present themselves very differently on different screens: on one you cannot see the hat at all cause it completely blends with the backgrounnd, on another it clearly stands out.
