BelaMolnar 2 Posted May 18, 2009 White snow? Fantastic! I love the composition and the distant snow go even more trough white, witch is exactly how thing happen in real life, even with overcast sky. The sky give a real winter feeling. Bravo, bravo Zsolt. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Nice job creating an anchor for the depth of this picture. Well composed and processed. The only thing I could possibly suggest, would be to clean up the exposed rocks to the right on the horizon. They are slightly distracting and IMHO distract from the picture. Regardless, great job..Thanks and best wishes-Jim Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted June 25, 2009 Simple but very effective composition, you have a real feeling of the vastness of the open field, the windy winter mood. Very nice contrast of the sky and the snow. Bravo Zsolt. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
ckoonce 0 Posted February 2, 2010 I really like this is it simple and clean, the snow is perfect for the soft light. Link to comment
mario2 0 Posted January 7, 2012 I like the interaction showed in this case the dialogue between this barbed wire entanglement with trees for my taste is beautiful as such as your frame and composition. The contrast between the nature elements ( stormy sky- white snow) is fantastic. In my opinion and after 25 years as a mountaineering the snow is the most difficult element that we can capture in color under a shadow situation looks with under blue dominant if we want to do a b&w edition somehow is easy to show a bit gray because we need to gives it texture,in your image I think that this one needs a bit of light without leave it texture.I adjust a bit white channel and levels.I respectfully offer my version trying to get better your great scenery.Best regards and happy New Year .Pd.The snow level is 240-245 yet maybe the correct one would be between 225-230 as maximum Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted January 7, 2012 thanks a lot Mario for your helpful comment!in this case, this B&W conversion you have right, your version looks better without overexposure or losing texture. the snow in color is indeed difficult to get if you want it appear natural, but if your goal is an artistic representation then it doesnt need to be natural, you can do it after your feelings and mood. in this case i went for B&W because the lack of interesting colors and enhancing the abstract character of the image.best wishes for 2012 for you, too.
