this image was incubated for about a year waiting for all the elements to

come together - one morning it seemed perfect.

I like the soft focus, grainy effect, and the light is beautiful. Maybe too much of the dark area at lower left, it's a bit overwhelming..

Claude,

Thanks. I agree about the dark lower left. The shapes (triangles) and the diagonal seemed to work.

Hope you don't mind some tweaking. I like the scene, but felt the soft focus both helped and hindered the shot. I upped the contrast and saturation a bit and then added some gausian blur to tone down the grain. Also...cloned out the car/truck (?), power lines, and a lot of little "dots" that could have been dust spots on your sensor (but didn't really look like dust spots). I tried to bring just a little detail out in the dark trees/bushes at bottom left...but the photos wasn't very receptive to my efforts...so I abandoned that idea. Anyway...I hope this helps. Adding the contrast and saturation seemed to bring out the beautiful morning light. Question: do you live in Tennessee? I'm a native Tennessean living in Chattanooga. Just curious if you live in my neck of the woods....best regards, John

Excellent work, John. Yes. Nashville.

The original was on 35mm film and was scanned. Have reproduced/printed several ways. This happened to be on my jumpdrive at a good resolution to upload. Really like your version of this too.

This is a stunning scene, the fog gives it such a mystic look!!!! I know you had to stand breathless when you first saw this image!!!!!

Seeing this brought a smile to my face. I reminded me somewhat of a painting my father did when he was a young man. This is reminiscent of a Constable painting, it has a majestic look to it.
