Thank you for your attention dear colleagues! PDE

This photo is really nice,

well constructed and with a glorious, appropriate dominant of blue. The only fault is - imho - the cropping at the bottom (too tight, cuts the last part of the windows), thank you, Giuseppe.

Jörg Vetter [subscriber] [Frequent poster] , July 14, 2008; 06:41 P.M.

Creative composition to cut the right. The colors fit perfect. However the architecture is great. What do we do for simple things today ? BR Joerg

Drew Jackson [subscriber] [Frequent poster] , July 14, 2008; 10:13 P.M.

Wonderful composition and the color tone is very soothing.

Some say they want more room on the bottom, I would like to see more room at the top also. This a very dramatic view . . . give the building room to breath. MHO

Great shot.

Manuel Colombo [subscriber] , July 15, 2008; 04:26 A.M.

The dramatic tone works well. I'd like to see more sky at the top, but it's a very good shot anyway

Very nice angle and colors. Liked the crop on the right. but the bottom is too tightly cropped, as mentioned above. compliments -koushik

very good composition Pierre..nice colours..warm regards NEZIF

Vesa Koskinen , July 15, 2008; 05:15 A.M.

This one is nice. Love those cool blue colours and bit tight composition. Sky is very dramatic. Only thing that catches the eye is a reflection on a left window at the bottom. Maybe with the polarizing filter would do the job? But thats really small flaw.

you are master of wonders. this photo is not made or edited like your some other works, but is still a wonderfull one. great

Welcome and thank you my friends!

Honestly, I didn't expect to get such critiques! I mean referring to the details you almost all agree to consider as flaws! I only expected to have remarks about the crop on the right side! I maybe also think it is a shortcoming, but it was the best solution in the time when I couldn't imagine the PS removing of undesired elements like modern style houses etc. This picture was taken in the distant 1986, that is!

Thanks again for your honest comments and objective ratings!

An interesting architectural image, very well scene maybe I would like to see the full right hand side window as I think the symmetry would be good.

Rich.

Richard, I maybe also think it is a shortcoming, but it was the best solution in the time when I couldn't imagine the PS removing of undesired elements like modern style houses etc. This picture was taken in the distant 1986, that is! And there were some houses with a "modern" shapes all around!

I didn't realize you would have been old enough in 1986 to be taking such shots. I've decided to enjoy it for what it is rather than quibble (sp?) over the details. Cheers, GJ

GJ, I was then 31, isn't that old enough for taking "such" pictures?!

Nice capture. You have an interesting portfolio~ very creative! Thank you also for leaving your comment on my photos. I uploaded my pics at too low a quality...my apologies. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and I will work on rectifying that! Please do "check" back if you like. Greetings from Vancouver Island, Iren

Thank you Fly and Iren!

Iren, I didn't say low quality, I said too small copies on which quality couldn't be precisely estimated!

I think that this shows that you're a cracking photographer as well as a superb conceptual photographic artist. It's simple but beautifully constructed.

Great stuff!

Pierre, sir!

Such lovely whimsical architecture and pretty blues! The shade of this sky is great with this structure. It's too bad there is a lean. If you can rotate that out of the photo, the photo would be just super!

Best regards, Maria

Pierre Dumas [Frequent poster] , October 04, 2008; 11:59 P.M. (edit | delete)

Maria Mme!

Thank you for telling about the leaning to the left, I would never notice that myself, maybe because there is also a converging because of the low point of view and wide lens! I will fix it right away, thank you again!

P.S. Done, Mme! It only takes some time for the change to take place on this site, I don't know why, but it's for sure!

Pierre, yes that feature does take some time for the change to stick. I don't know why either, but that's very nice that you made that adjustment. That's even better. What a great roofline! - Maria

Maria Bostenaru [subscriber] , October 30, 2008; 02:03 A.M.

I would have cropped more on the right, so the viewers don't know it is symmetrical. I thought the point of the picture was a small roof near a big roof. But it isn't even symmetrical, since on the left down there is a spiral and on the right not.

Anyway, like the others, I like the blues.

ciao Maria

I love the way you managed to take a monochromatic picture.

As to the cropping (previous critiques), nothing bothers me. I think it would also make a superb postcard. But it's more than that.

Now thats what I call stylish!  What great character buildings can communicate, thank god for architects with imagination!  Great perspective and colour contrast.

Sincere Compliments!
