Giuseppe,

nice, and fitting title. The shadow seems to be waiting for the unexpecting man, and looks somewhat menacing, especially with the somewhat haunting sense of the title.

Now, again about the title: it caused me a deja-vu of sort (hehe...), another occasion when I found this word used... but of course I don't remember when, and I know that now this thought will walk beside me for the whole day... oh well!

Back on the photo, the only negative I can see is that it looks slightly off-center to the left. I don't know if you can crop differently, but if you can I would slightly reframe it to the right, to have the middle point between the man and the shadow fall in the center.

Ciao!

Works for me as a modern version of 'Strange Case of Dr Jackyll and Mr Hyde':). Funny yet meaningful scene of an unexpected encounter of a man with his alter ego. Interesting and reflective observation, thank you Giuseppe, best regards -wm

for your comments and ratings. Luca, you've got aquite a good eye and I will seriously keep in mind your remarks and suggestions when printing this one. This works has been composed - as most of my street shots - quite in a hurry, shooting from distance while traffic and passers by were doing what they usually do: disturb us photographers ;-)).

Thank you all for your kindness and the time you spend on my photos, Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,

it is always a pleasure. I agree with you anyway. People should be removed from the streets when we shoot. Except for the one(s) we shoot at. But you know this is an unfair world where the photographers' rights are taken in no account ;-) ...

Apart from jokes, I stopped counting the photos I "almost got", because somebody stepped in, or out, or moved. This is probably what photographers who do not shoot street have more problems understanding. The "decisive moment" as HCB called it, is an extremely thin slice of time in most cases. Before and after, your wife has stepped in the middle to look at a shop. Ciao!

Just before the crash!

Perfect timing...

The internal framing of the ominious shadow by the (?)window enhances the feeling...

The shadow play is what makes this presentation great. B&W overall is nicely done. Explanation of the title enhances this scene for the viewer. Regards, ~~~~~~~Linda
