Giuseppe, a fine shot. And reminds me of the photos I have taken from metro stations.

Always that strange atmosphere in nobody's land. Great colors too.

With kind regards.

Bellissimo scatto, molto elegante per composizione e cromatismo.

In bocca al lupo ancora per l'imminente esposizione e complimenti per la tua foto su online photographer! Un caro saluto.

"One of my most recent works titled Dog and Kite has been chosen for the Random Excellence page of the famous website "The Online Photographer"." - Congratulations, "Dog and Kite" is an excellent photo!...

And I like very much this "Metro - Roma 2009". Very good in the technical aspect and also very meaningful. It is a pertinent portrait of the modern life, full of speed, dilemmas and questions. Best regards.

Ahhh, this really worked! Nice idea and serendipitous results! It created a lovely palette for your subject. 6/6 anon.

for your appreciation of this "Metro" work and the compliments about "The Online Photographer" recognition of "Dog and Kite". These means a lot to me.

"Metro" has been a question of moments. On Friday, going bak home, I was waiting for the train when I saw this man completely, absolutely frozen on the platform. I hanged the camera on the neck and chose a quite long exposure. Then waited hoping no one of the crowd around us would have entered the scene unexpectedly. The man stood still also while the train entered the station. Nobody entered the frame. Gods of photography have been kind another time. Thanks again ,

Giuseppe

Creative and difficult shot with a very good effect. Nice use of the movement creates an abstract background to a simple but meaningful scene and subdued colors add to the reflective mood here.

Congratulations Giuseppe on being featured on "The Online Photographer" website and the recognition you certainly deserve. I'm also sure your coming exhibition in Bruges will be a big success. Thank you for sharing your works:). Wish you all the best -wm

and rates. Wieslaw, this was a really difficult shot, one that reminds me that of St. Peter's Dome, or the Christ in Santa Maria dei Miracoli. I do not like too much flashes (although I find amazing the use made of them by photographers like Weegee, who was certainly obliged by circumstances strongly related to his job (he is credited to have said "“People who work in the daytime are suckers.”). I am happy you liked this one.

I wish to thank here all the people who has mailed me just to cheer up for The Online Photographer Random Excellence and the coming exhibit in Brugge. I will be surely present at the inauguration on April the 3d (but will be in Belgium some days in advance, so if you're round there (Antwerp, Bruges, Bruxelles) with nothing better to do than say a ciao to this poor wanderer, let me know by mail...)

Thank you all,

Giuseppe

First my congratulations for your photo being selected.

I knew it, I knew it, there are colors after all in Rome too - one just have to go underground to discover them. Giuseppe, you have no idea how many times I have happened to be online clicking on the thumbnails of your latest uploads just to get an error message "the original is deleted", and then later a B&W version has appeared. So you must be very hooked on B&W conversion, showing your masterful skills... but please don't get me wrong, what about to expose more of the color world of th classic city of Rome? Any challenge for you to thrill us with masterful color work?

This and your selfportrait could be a start for a series... I like the feel of kinda power radiating from this man, thanks to motion blur and the roof structure ("The Glory of a Common Man"). Very nice.

I promise I will.

As you may have understood looking at some of my most recent posts on this service I am slowly adding works in color. So I gladly accept your suggestion and personal challenge. As a sign of high respect for a truly gifted photographer and a good friend let me add "The Glory of a Common Man" as sub-title and quote your contribution. A big thank you, Giuseppe

I truly look forward to see more of your color visions. By all means you are welcome to use the sub-title I sketched in my mind yesterday. With best wishes for your further work...

BRAVO!!!

You combined all the elements of photography that I love, motion, street, abstract, candid...and made probably one of the strongest photos I have seen in a very long time.

I love this technique when applied to non-trees/woods. Your control is superior and when I see this I am both inspired yet know that I still have much to learn!

Brilliant kind sir!
