Quite a place. Wish there were a couple youngsters in the photo. I suspect this was an unusual moment of inactivity. Interesting though. And of course colorful. gs

sugar herer and there...the kids paradise...I will throw my two salvage beasts of 4 and 8 years ol in the middle of this dreamland and you'll see the devastation....:-)...in one way it's a colorful picture of a kid's paradise and the other way I see it as a proof that we have gone too far in our society (too much, too rich, too sugar)...and that's what I like most in this picture...the exageration brings questions.....

I wish you a wonderful Christmas with child, grand childs and the whole family...I'll continue to follow your posts in 2009 as it proved inspiring and stimulating....all the best David...take care....

Another great David Meyer creation! I also wanted to wish you and your family the best for this holiday season! Thank you for all of your sage comments on my images this year. I'm looking forward to an active 2009. Who knows...maybe there are some pleasant changes ahead for the future...we can only hope!

Warm regards!

Emmanuel: Indeed, the land of sugar plums and rainbows.

Jose: and I'm equally indebted to you for your comments. Wishing you a great holiday and wonderful new year.

Jack: and then they fall out. Are the dentists good in Japan?

Marjorie: Back at you with the good wishes. Yeah, I like that. I could be the candy man.

Gary: This was taken as most of the shops were just opening on a Sunday morning. It was kind of a gray and not too pretty day. As a side note, I've been here many times, and never seen it so little occupied with tourists. I don't know if that was an anomaly or if it is indicative of the recession/depression.

Jeff: I know that I probably like candy more then Willie. That's for sure.

Laurent: I have a granddaughter who is five, and grandson who is eight, so you may believe I know very well the devastation they can visit upon shops. Have a great holiday.

Dick: Thanks to you. I've enjoyed our exchanges in the past and look forward to many more in the future. Have a great holiday and a prosperous new year.

David, this rivals my childhood "visions of sugurplums" as i would finally fall fitfully...and breifly...asleep on Christmas Eve. i hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, and i look forward to seeing many more images of your view of the world in the new year. Linda

And large is what all this candy is going to produce. Sort of a photographic onomatopoeia. Photograph looks at candy and gets large. Photographer eats candy and gets large.

I hope to never live in a world without hot fudge sundaes, macadamia sprinkles, and whipped cream. Eat for pleasure and then work it off...those lollipops swirls on the right bin are indeed all week suckers, David. I want one...:-) gs

I used to run marathons just for the reason you state. Alas, those days are over. If I get back there soon, I'll buy you a sucker. (Then eat it! lol)
