I am particularly grateful for your kind critiques of this. I know the person attached to that hand, and it was easy for me to find meaning in the picture. But it doesn't necessarily convey anything to the viewer. For me, photography is communication, and familiarity with the subject can deceive the photographer into making assumptions that just aren't supported in the pictures.
