Mike Marcotte 50,318 Posted November 16, 2008 What a find! The chair is a nice touch Doug. I often think about that place. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted November 17, 2008 Thanks Mike. This is another one I owe to your curiosity. I posted a black and white version some months ago. I've always been frustrated by the distortion that curves the shelves. But it still intrigues me to wonder who in this poor mountain hamlet could and would have ordered this phonograph, and why someone would have kept the crate all these years. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted November 18, 2008 Indeed, what a find. I don't see any distortion that is particularly onerous. I was hoping that by now I would have heard from you about the Oxford Project. They did a piece about the town and the book last Sunday on the Sunday Morning show. I don't think the piece really captured the flavor of the book, but it was still interesting. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted November 18, 2008 Thanks. I tried to crop this so as to minimize the distortion. Sometimes I think we too often see only the flaws in our own work. I have emailed you regarding the Oxford Project. Your guarantee won't be necessary. I'm keeping the book. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 25, 2008 A wonderful find, rescued from someone's attic and brought to our attention. Link to comment
